So these gnats and flies that have lives that last for hours, they just buzz around earth for a bit, die, they buzz around heaven forever. How would they even know they were dead? It'd be pretty much the same life, but since they can't tell time or realize how pointless their existence is they probably couldn't tell dead from alive. Actually that's a pretty fucked up thing to do to those gnats.

Animals don't have immortal souls. They don't go to Heaven or Hell when they die, they just die. This is because humans are uniquely gifted with the capacity for reason and justice, and it is our task to glorify God and spread His word. This is our mission, and Heaven is our reward for fulfilling it.

It's funny, but Hobbes also raises a valid point. There's an inherent conflict of interests in allowing animals into Heaven; there are animals which annoy us (flies and other insects), animals which prey upon us (tigers and crocodiles, etc.), and animals which we prey upon. You can't make everyone happy.
