10 Cloverfield Lane was a good movie imo but more of a thriller. Favourite's gotta be first insidious tho, loved the atmosphere

oh, well that's fair. the thriller atmosphere was really good, watching the original and knowing the background does make you empathize with the characters motivations, but I get what you mean.

I'd say it's a 50/50 to keep them or not.

Then why would it have been attached by name to the Cloverfield franchise? The first movie being aliens and the second being a government attack as the cause for the same event in the same universe would be fucking dumb, also the alien scenes were done well.

i agree the alien scenes looked pretty good but the movies makes you think stuff like ''is he lying to her? is he crazy? is he telling the truth?'' you never really know if he is lying or not about the gas and the goverment attacks but in the end it doesnt even matter because its fucking aliens

10 Cloverfield Lane was originally an entirely different film - they just tacked on the 'cloverfield' tag & added some extra e.t scenes at the end.

Anyone else see this? Besides cannibal holocaust it was one of the first found footage films and it really has this disturbing vibe on it. Like it plays out like a documentary and the narrators deep and monotone voice really added to it. Not the best but inspired other good movies and should certainly be up there with the blair witch horror.

I watched it. Still have a VHS copy I think. I can't remember shit about it except that it was somewhat better than BWP, but most stuff is.

I remember hearing a rumor that E.T. was going to be based around a real life alien encounter with aliens called the "Hopkinsville goblins", but then he completely changed the story into what it is. I feel like E.T. has the alien theme to it, but gremlins is what E.T. was going to be if he had gone with the original story.

I saw this in the theater when I was young. I don't know if it was intentionally bad but it was awful. You could see the boom mic in every other scene, the effects sucked, the acting sucked, Abdul the story was stupid.
