Yes, take political beliefs for example. Something out of the ordinary happens, the Orlando Shooting for instance. People respond to this ordeal in a pre-determined way. Belonging is a basic human need, so much so that it shapes thought. We are constantly connecting ourselves to these currents of belief. It could be moral, practical, existential or any other belief, but the fact remains that at some level human beings are hive lifeforms.

Whether or not the existence of interconnectivity goes beyond this is yet unknown. How could one measure this connection? The collective consciousness itself is filled with unknown variables. Consciousness is far beyond human understanding. We attempt to observe the nature of observation. In this process, the mind attempts to analyze and process itself, not an observable phenomena, but instead its very nature: the thing itself.
