I picture OP buying a hamburger and then just staring at it dumbfounded.

I'd recommend just starting off with a simple 3 card spread for past present future.

Ask a question and shuffle the cards - some people perform rituals like always facing a certain direction or lighting incense or something and some people insist you must concentrate your energy into the cards - I don't believe in that crap. Just shuffle and draw the top 3 cards. First one represents past, second one represents present, third represents future.

Look up the cards in a book or online - I would not recommend using the little pamphlet you got with your card. A site like biddytarot will go much more in depth to all the possible ways to interpret the cards.

Keep doing readings until you stop having to look up the cards. Start incorporating more and more complex spreads into your arsenal.
