Now that shit was fucking stupid.

The SCP Foundation is a collaborative writing website that describes the exploits of the SCP Foundation, a FICTIONAL organization responsible for containing entities, locations, and objects that violate natural law.
>>
>>17833947
Do you reckon the Government could have organizations like this IRL?

Like the Men in black?
>>
>>17833963
Sure, things like SCP creatures/items/whatever aren't real so yeah sure.

Best is still 002.

Nothing has topped that, although all of the first season bar a couple are god-tier.

QUICK, name your favourite SCP.

093 by far. Very intriguing and had a blast reading it.

Honorable mention:
2722 because the very idea of a starship that appears just to save a race from fucked up shit is interesting. And it has a giant wave motion cannon.

General Questions
Is SCP real?

No. We are a creative writing website. All the SCPs are fictional. The Foundation is fictional.

How can I join the SCP Foundation?

Go to our Join Page. Remember to follow all the instructions.

Can the memetic hazards hurt me? Will I die if I ignore a security warning? Will anything happen to me in real life from reading these pages?

No. The "memetic hazards" are just random pictures. The security warnings are just to tell the reader how much the Foundation thinks these things are important and scary. They're not real.

I saw an SCP! / I think I am an SCP! What do I do?

No, you didn't. SCPs are fiction that we wrote. Also, we are not a roleplaying site!

Do you all write this stuff, or did someone else?

We wrote all this stuff. We are a community of writers.

>why doesn't /x/ have this kind of a disclaimer? Years ago, /x/ used to be the most creative board on 4chan. Now it's a shitty roleplaying board.

914 is a machine that I need, 748 blew my mind, 1981 is legit creepy, 2682 is amazingly weird and lovecraftian yet silly, 2030 and 1733 sound like awesome shows.

I can't remember which SCP it was where there was a temporal portal in a normal house, and when you entered it it was a plain with a single dirt road and you had to cross to the other edge to get out which took like billions of years, but you never got tired or hungry.

What number was that one?
>>
>>17843396
Found it, 2503. Nevermind
>>
>>17841588
Read first. Not all of them are world-ending, they don't really capture all of them but use any neasure possible to prevent knowledge of anomalies, everything in captivity have some form of restriction allowing containment, and not all anomalies are contained or even known about.

>>
I haven't read any in a while, but my favorite was the SCP that was a tiny door to another dimension. The foundation basically kills off most of the dimension's population by accident, and they spend the rest of their lives trying to take revenge by nuking and sending nanobots through the portal.
>>
>>17835159

Is there any SCP story about the space suit man that appears sometimes in paranormal stories or sci-fi?

>>
I forget the number, but The Deer is a hell of a read. It also unfortunately shows how autistic the SCP community is, and how creativity-stifling they tend to be.

>define "actual"
Things that weren't made up by the internet, which have a history within certain cultures. Things that were (and perhaps still are) believed in and feared.
>define "useful"
Useful for academic purposes, possibly defensive if Hell freezes over and it turns out they actually exist.

>>

>>
>>17858529

>>
>>17858572

Can't remember if it was first, but it was definitely one the early ones and pretty much the one that made SCP popular. I remember being in the first threads about it.
>>
>>17858572
No, it isn't nearly the first one. But some dude made vidya out of it which was an indie success so that one has become the most popular.

Its a shame really. The best stories are not the ones involving straight up, one note creatures, but the very existential and trippy stories.
>>
>>17858892
How's the game btw?

I heard that now it has a lot of different SCPs
>>
>>17858901
If you like the stories, you will love the game.
>>
>>17858901
It's pretty fun, especially if someone else is there to watch. A lot of things to do/get killed by, and while the graphics aren't the best, the atmosphere is fucking incredible. Pulls you right in

>>17858901
it's good, play it.

>>17833609
The objective best one is that America gun that shoots super patriotic American eagles. Anyone know that one? They should really put in that game imo.
>>
>>17858892
I actually believe it IS the first one. It says on the page listing it (http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-series#100) that it is the original.

>The gigantic sleeping sea creature

>The pool that can send you to fucking outer space

>Everything about 231

>The "Mother"

>The Ronald Reagan tape

>The comedy show with missing people in it

>The 3 tapes that give off varying states of mental instability

>The door with the monster behind it that will straight up just destroy humanity at some point and there's nothing that can be done

First reading all of these a few months ago was a fun ride
>>
I enjoyed:
-the one about the machine that could upgrade/downgrade things put into it, a lot of good ideas there
-the endless stairwell with voices, straightforward, but creepy
-the blood pool/river storyline. long compared to other entries but, a good short story
-various other continuity references and the general idea
-can't remember any numbers, read the most of the site back before it broke 1K
-???
-profit

one of the newest ones I liked was that SCP that's suposed to be a gigantic machine in Jupiter's Red spot that's slowly reconstructing itself and was initially headed towards Earth.
