if we end up in outer space or inner earth when we reach south pole
>>
>>17788836
No. If you go to the South Pole there's a bunch of ice and wind. There's airfield. And a compound with various research buildings and living quarters. There's a ceremonial South Pole you can see and photograph. There are tourist agencies which will take you there if you want to spend the money.

The map used in the UN logo is called a polar projection. It's a 2D representation of a sphere. They picked it because it has all nations on earth on it, representing the United Nations. It's also a nice round shape, so you can surround it with olive branches, which symbolize peace. The problem with polar projections is that while it gets the shape and proportions of northern countries fairly accurately, everything in the Southern Hemisphere is grossly distorted. For example, you'll notice the Cape of Good Hope appears to stretch hundreds of miles east to west. This is rather absurd. Using it as an actual map is also absurd.

What about it? A wide angle lens gives, like the name implies, a wider view, so you can see more.

In the left image you're cutting a significant part of the image off, so it looks flatter than it really is.

If you, given complete control over the beliefs of the entire planet, can't find anything interesting to do with people, then you're on the wrong board.
>>
>>17789115
Oh wow, lol. That about sums it up I think.
>>
>>17789192
Not defending the theories, but spherical Earthers don't know anything either. The default for all people in all time periods is complete and total ignorance, and assertion-style education systems do nothing to stop this.
>>
>>17788811
Both are entirely without merit or evidence beyond "YOU can't prove it isn't, and I don't believe the "official" story, so I'm right!"
>>
>>17789198
Pilots are a different issue. But the idea that NASA couldn't be a fake organization that hires people to sit around and do absolutely nothing at all with their time is retarded. Even if you believe the space program is real, it takes a lot of funding to get anything off the ground, in a very real sense. And then, even after a mission is launched, there's a whole hell of a lot of waiting around and doing absolutely nothing at all while the goddamn space probe takes years to get to its destination. The idea the NASA could do slightly less than sit around all day and sometimes lazily design robots is stupid. It isn't hard to pay people to do nothing.
>>

This.

We have the technology to TAKE PICTURES OF IT FROM GODDAMN OUTER SPACE, and it invariably appears spherical. You can have all the facts 100% straight in your head and still be a drooling idiot because you have no idea why those facts are supposed to be facts. Memorization is NOT evidence of intelligence.

No, they lose them as soon as they become conspiracy nuts and society discards them. Definitely wrong. If you never tested it yourself then you never actually knew anything at all. If you have, then you've only known it since the moment you finished the experiment. Even if we take your "I was taught this so it must be true" notion of the truth into account, then you've only known it since you've been alive. Unless you've lived for more than a century, you haven't know anything for a long period of time.

Coverups have existed in every era in human history. You can't have politics without scandals. It doesn't matter which organization does it, the very basic fact is that's it's *POSSIBLE* do to it at all.

No, they don't. If you want clarity, you look at the original images. Compositing images is literally an art project. No serious scientist is going to feed the composite images into their simulations. They only produce composites to have something to show to the public. They literally lose data while spicing it up for public consumption.

You flat-earthers are the most myopic of the truther bunch. It's quite silly

So let's just assume NASA and every other country's aerospace branches are in on the "conspiracy".

Does that mean private companies are in on this too? Does SpaceX, owned by the same guy as Tesla, manufacture actual fucking ROCKETS just for show? How much money do you have to make for the "powers that be" to clue you in on the "truth"??

Where do SpaceX rockets go when they launch them on live camera feeds for the entire world to see? I honestly don't understand this stupid fucking idea enough to understand where you guys think the sky goes. It boggles my mind to imagine anyone who's been on a plane can believe this-- I've taken pictures on my iPhone from planes that show the curvature of the Earth, and anyone can.

THAT BEING SAID i'm not completely clear on the idea that the Earth isn't hollow. I mean, it's almost certainly not as hollow as some people on this board make it out to be, but I'm not ruling out that some hole in Antarctica houses some pretty bizarre caverns

Of course not. Knowledge is modular like that. But until you actually test it, it's just a model that you BELIEVE applies to reality. Being wrong is always possible. Some people like to say that knowledge cannot exist because we can never be certain, but I think in this case it's probably easier to say that knowledge can just be flat out wrong sometimes.

Or it can be wrong often, if we allow that the things considered as (common) knowledge in the past are a valid form of "knowledge."

Let me rephrase.

*I* have enough epistemology to know things, and to know that I know things. You're a faggot and you have no way to know things because you think trusting others to possess knowledge means that you have knowledge too. No, what you have is trust, and that makes anything you hear become a belief in your mind. When I hear things, I can use my intellect to discern if it's legit or not, but you're just a faggot with beliefs. You probably think a ton of things that you have no way to verify.

>>17789909

>>
>>17790038
>It only proves the existence of a ball

>depth perception

>>
>>17790077
>distance
To add on to this:

Measuring distance is a HUGE problem with astronomy. Even out most powerful telescopes give us shit all in the way of judging distance. For local stars, the only way we can approximate their distance relative to the Earth is by measure how far they deviate in the sky as we orbit the sun. What we actually measure is their distance from the sun, and that only really works in the plane of our orbit. Stars that maintain their distance all year long are hard to read. The entire field is fraught with virtually absolute uncertainty.

I'm still not sure we can use red/blueshift to measure the distances of galaxies. I don't know how to tell local gravitation anomalies apart from supposedly universal gravitational anomalies, and I don't really see why we should conclude one way or the other at those scales.
>>
>>17790084

>>
>>17790080
you are equally retarded if you really think this

the only limitation of their reasoning is the fact that they need to believe in this stupid bullshit because they already made a gargantuan ball of faggotry and conspiracies and they need to keep making it bigger so it keeps making sense in their world

>>
>>17790098
>relative size has no absolute value
Damn straight it doesn't. Just like anything that can be written in a book has no absolute value. In fact, even if God exists, the fact that Satan is able to disagree with him at all means that God's value doesn't exist in Satan's mind. The fact that actual people can believe God doesn't have value means that God has no absolute value either. Absolute value is completely impossible to attain without direct and forceful mind control of every being in existence, and even then, the fact that you have to control their values to make them align means that those values weren't inherent to begin with.

Absolute value requires absolute death, and if you ever change your opinion when everything else in existence has died, then your own values aren't absolute.

Yes, there truly is no such thing as a meter. It's just an idea we use for no reason. An arbitrary length with no substance behind it. Pure concept.

It's only by measuring things are great distances, ie., the sun and moon, that we can conclude the Earth is a sphere. You're an idiot if you think their reasoning is wrong. It may well be limited or incomplete because it fails to factor in things like arcshadow, but it certainly isn't wrong. Fuck off. flat earth is cointel pro to discredit all conspiracy theories and add confusion into established and known quantities:

>Cabal of elite people control world policy
>China and Russia refuse to play ball with them
>There is A LOT of anecdotal evidence to suggest several alien species are behind this pyramidal system of control

It was hard to put it all together before, but now with the internet we can start seeing the pieces come together. Nobody doubts anymore that:

>Politicians and business leaders use prostitution services and there is a pedophile group at the top which preys on orphans and abandoned teens

>People hiking in certain regions of National Parks in the US go missing and there has been an attempt to cover up and hide the locations of these disappearances, which are NOT random

>CIA ran drugs and guns illegally to fund terrorism

Discrepancies in this image:
convex lenses will apply the same amount of curve to any surface, regardless of distance, being only dependent on where the light hits the lens. This is also why the second image has a higher curve on the earth than our planet actually has, yet the panels are curved less than the planet, despite being on the outer edge of the lens. You're also trying to use the crappiest quality available to prove the side that you agree with; but if you look closely on the left, you can see the curve of the earth behind the lens glare. The supposed straight edge is actually sunlight hitting the atmosphere, which is also why you have a shadow on the other side, which cuts out half of the entire edge leaving it up to your imagination.

Think about diversification, many people doing many jobs to perform the functions need to live with as many people as we do. Not everyone can be a scientist. If you want to be a truth seeker we need more like minded people to work the high level jobs, and hopefully try to bring pertinent findings to light. We need more people like Tesla out there building non conventional technologies. Take a lot of common circuits or power grids. We pay utility companies for energy, only because our current model is inefficient. A few people have made better things, things that would take money from these utility companies. You can find many well documented cases of people having patents denied for no reason, sued to poverty, investors scared off, killings, etc.
I'm Not saying we've been lied to about the laws of physics, I'm just saying the "standard model" is usually crammed down people's throats, and moving away from That is just ridiculed and thought a waste of time because "it just doesn't work like that."

There was a man named solicus (not sure on name exactly, lived from 190-140bc using an theory from the Greeks before him, who also believed in the heliocentric model, used archaic trig supposedly to "prove" it. Point is, there were people correcting mathematical errors on the geocentric model well before Christ. I'm siding with heliocentric, even though it's only a part of the equation now. I think until we get better results from the particle collider and the infrared telescope, we won't make too many advances.

You're an idiot. This is why:
You're running into the same issues with perception that ancient people did because you're viewing from a "fixed location" and proceeding as such, when in reality, we are not in a fixed location. Once we started using the heliocentric model, we could actually work out the math. Are you familiar with geometry, trig, physics, proofs?

We're discussing alternate models of physics. If magnetism were stronger than the electric force, it could be used to manipulate all matter *without* tearing it to shreds with magno-tidal forces.
>>
>>17790258
No, that was unique to me. I currently believe the heliocentric model, but sphere Earthers who've never spent more than three seconds staring at shadows and flat Earthers who don't know their Bible from their elbow definitely don't have as much capacity to think and reason as I do. You're all idiots if you think you're holding anything more than beliefs prior to the moment you actually test the hypothesis you believe in.

Trusting others means you have only a belief.
>>
>>17790077
I'm not sure what to believe yet in all of this, but I feel the need to point out that if the world was an artificial construct inside a controlled environment (just one example), a telescope wouldn't prove anything. In order for a telescope to prove something you have to take on several assumptions which you personally don't know to be true. After learning about all the BS surrounding NASA I have been very skeptical of information put out by them. They are a military organization after all, and the powers that be lie to us all the time. This all goes much deeper than just NASA.
>>
>>17790559
>Think about diversification
I pretty much think about nothing but that, all day every day.
>Not everyone can be a scientist.
Not with the modern economy, no. We'd need to be able to free up people's time for a second hobby beyond their initial profession to achieve that.
>only because our current model is inefficient
Exactly. All conflict comes from people being assholes about the timing of resource distributions.
>it just doesn't work like that
You know, now that I'm an adult, I still think we'd be better off killing everyone who dared say that things "just don't work that way" about anything.

Even if I accidentally say it and get killed, I think I'd be okay with that just for knowing that that was the reason. It'd give me a peace unlike anything else could ever produce.

I don't know what to believe in all of this, but the reason people are being skeptical of all the information that our government and main stream media gives us, is because it is controlled in large by freemasons and zionist jews, who built this country. They have a horrible history of lying and deceiving to further their own agendas and are responsible for most of the recent wars and terrorism. You have to understand who really holds the power, the lies that get played out in the mainstream week to week, and how it's all connected, before you can even begin to understand why people are questioning NASA. This all goes much deeper and if you are new to this info I highly suggest you look into all of the evidence for this yourself. There's reason not to trust the stories being fed to us, and to gather evidence for yourself, or at least from other trustworthy sources, because again, the masses have already been blatantly deceived over and over again in history.

Holy

Fucking

Shit

what a concept

most of those photos are from low orbit satellites which can only see small parts of the earth at a time so they are scanned digitally and put together for a larger single photo of the earth. inaccurate as fuck.
there are a number which were taken by the AST-3 satellite which was essentially a color scanner in space. It scanned a single line of the earth each rotation for around 2,400 rotations for a complete image of earth.

1975 was taken with camera film and digitally uploaded years later

2007, 1997, 2002 and 2012 are digital composites with deliberate adjustments in saturation and contrast for a deep pretty blue ocean.

2015 is a raw digital photo from the DSCOVR satellite.

Basically anon, different cameras from different altitudes can create different pictures.

Also no I don't trust NASA, but that doesn't mean I don't trust the ESA, ISRO, JAXA, RFSA, CNSA, youtubers with gopros attached to balloons, telescopes, high altitude flights,, the hamster I sent to space in a basket when I was 7, or the 75 other space agencies, both privately and government funded that exist around the world.
