A slightly odd idea - I was wondering how much relevance we put on the name of a horrific creature, and how the name of a creature relates to the fear we feel.

People renamed the bear in some places in the middle ages because of superstition that calling them by their then-current name would attract them.
Bear means "brown one". Their original name was something like arctos.
