Any other Ginger Snaps bros here?

The lead characters in this movie strike me as pretty much the ultimate /x/philes.

Basically the gist of the movie is that these two sisters are paranormal as fuck, and form a pact to die together.

In a meantime all of the dogs in their neighborhoods are getting mauled to death by some creature.

Eventually one of the sisters TRANSFORMS into a werewolf and shit just gets scarier from there.

Anyone else here into this?

She's mah werewolf waifu, anon.
>>
fuck yeah, this used to come on ever Halloween and was on my movie watch list
>that early 2000s, pre 9/11 feel
>all characters are realistic and not sterotypes of women in horror movies
>10/10 creature design
they really dont make them like this anymore
>>
I've been on a bit of an early 2000s horror kick lately.

I watched Final Destination (the original one) yesterday and it was honestly hilarious.

There was this scene where two of the main characters sneak into the morgue to check out their friend's corpse after he died. The scene is so hilarious because this black undertaker guy shows up and starts spooking them out by taking blood out of the guy's body and shit. I feel like movies today wouldn't play around with such blatantly morbid humor.
>>
The best honestly. It manages to create a relatable view of teenagers without sexualizing them to the degree of something likg Jennifer's body and making it more about the monster and less about 'haha she's hot'. They managed to make something dealing with the topic of puberty in a cool brutal fucking way. while not having it be corny as fuck and still excellent lore/horror wise.
No to mention I looked like bridgette when I was younger so I that was a cool thing for me.

I wonder what she looks like now, ugly as fuck I'm guessing, she just has one of those faces.

Behold.
>>
>>17778536
Hmm, not bad, she probably has another 5 years or so in her.

>Following the attack, Ginger undergoes physical and mental transformations that concern Brigitte. Ginger starts to behave aggressively and grow hair from her wounds, sprouts a tail, and heavily menstruates. Ignoring Brigitte's warnings, Ginger has unprotected sex with a classmate named Jason and kills a neighbor's dog.

One of my favourites. I watch it at least annually... the atmosphere in this movie is unique and breathtaking. I agree with an anon said about it having that 90s feel.
>you'll never get to go back and experience the 90s goth/grunge scene as a teenager
>>
>>17778542
>i'm fat
>>
Always had a thing for the gloomy sister since I was a kid. Can't explain why.

This movie got swept up in the Columbine aftermath when soccer moms were attempting to purge anything remotely goth/grunge in schools.

Blair Witch Project (1999)
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Ginger Snaps (2000)
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
Thirteen Ghosts (2001)
The Ring (2002)
Ghost Ship (2002)
Darkness Falls (2003)

Plus all of these coincided with the 'Golden Age' of survival horror. What happened, m80s?
>>
That movie sucks. It's like a degrassi episode written by a preteen goth.
>>
>>17779318

I'm OP, so naturally I like the movie, but yeah, when I was watching it I got that 'degrassi' feel too.
>>
>>17780501
It's a Canadian thing. The shows 'Haunting Hour' and 'Are You Afraid of the Dark' had elements of it as well.

love this fuckin' movie. It's part of my werewolf trinity: American Werewolf in London, Dog Soldiers and Ginger Snaps.

>>17780501
that degrassi feel is kind of the point, it's works in the film's advantage

>>17779151
So did I, but I guess it's a matter of common interests.

Did any of you check out the sequels? None are as good as the first, but the second has a nice 'asylum horror' feel to it, and the third one takes place during the colonial era, with more native american 'wendigo' twists. I own them all on DVD, one of my favourite Canadian film series.

>>17778507
Pics please?

>>17778536
She was in a more recent movie called American Mary by the Soska sisters. It was a bit cliche, low budget and some of the plot was kind of iffy, but had a pretty good soundtrack and I enjoyed watching it.

>>17780501
>>17780516
It's a Canadian movie. It wasn't trying to emulate degrassi, that's just what Canadian film/television is like.

shes was in the hannibal's tv adaptation too.

She has a longer face than I do, but I related to the awkward look when I was 12 and liked seeing someone as awkward looking in a movie.

Ginger Snaps made me develop an attraction towards Emily Perkins and sickly looking goth girls. She still looks good for someone in their late 30s. Would waifu the fuck outta her super hard. She also starred in Stephen King's IT.

I retired when Saw came out.
>>
>>17781803
I know it's Canadian, so am I. Everything Canadian feels like Degrassi.

>>17781931
She was great in that, I really felt sorry for her. American Mary is where it's at, though.

>>17781964
I had a friend that looked identical to her in High School, she grew out of the awkward dark phase, though.

>>17781990
THIS. She was in Supernatural as well.

>>17781996
The creator of Saw made so many good films, too bad Saw isn't one of them.
>>
>>17778198
This is a great movie. Very unnerving but feels like more than just a horror film at the same time.
>>
I liked it.
What did you all think of the sequels?
I thought the second one was watchable but the third was bullshit.
