NO NO NO NO NO
Fuck, and you no doubt think 'meme' means any image with some text on it.
Fuck.

No, I don't think a meme is and image with text on it. Elaboration needed on why and ARG is not a YouTube channel with a mystery behind it.

ARGs existed before YouTubby, they don't even have to deal with the internet. Such as "THE INSTITUTE"

An ARG is an Alternate Reality Game. It's a piece of interactive fiction! It's so fucking frustrating that kids think everything is a fucking ARG these days.

Substance of an ARG.
An ARG isn't only a YouTube channel, which is why people are getting angry with you saying there are. There is usually a few different parts to an ARG, substance (i.e images, videos, messages, etc.), community (forums, leddit, or something else), and creator invovlvement. If the creator isn't involved in an ARG it's just awful. There are plenty of examples of failed ARG's, most of 'em just so happen to be on youtube since it doesn't provide a good platform for discussion.

I have auto correct and sometimes it messes up.

Oh ok.
The one for Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane were one of the best ARG's ever. This is the other franchise JJ didn't screw up.
in regard to the gif in the op, I've seen this thing when experiencing sleep paralysis
only difference was that it was part pig facially

more or less this. check out everymanHYBRID for a decent example of an ARG. it's largely based in a youtube channel, but it also uses twitter, tumblr blogs, personal emails, and physical packages place around the east coast to tell its story.
something like marble hornets, on the other hand, isn't an arg. it does use twitter for some additional info, but all of the story can be gathered from a series of youtube videos alone.
The absolutely terrifying Finger Family
