I don't think my branch really has a name. My father went to great lengths to study Islam and get back to the roots on knowledge. He had a strong view of Islam and Allah in general and I was taught that Islam was meant to be a lax religion. It's not supposed to be hard, there's not supposed to be any compulsion about having faith, and he had this story about a Muslim brother that asked what would happen if he left Islam. Basically my father outlined the steps for holding a funeral and the guy ran off scared as if my father had said they would've killed him for leaving Islam.

My father was a man who payed attention to what went on in the world, and Islam helped illustrate it.
