and your pick is off crystal form which if you just want the material for ceremonial reasons isnt needed and will increase the cost since the crystals fold into themselves when they form they do not just grow in 1 direction it would have to be a huge chunk of bismuth for a dagger

I don't think bismuth have any effects on ghosts. I don't even believe in ghosts even if I like the stories.

But if the plastic and water go through the ghosts like nothing but the bismuth particles hurt them them you get a bunch of tiny anti-ghost projectiles being held down by a non-ghost interacting matter so your hits will concentrate all the power on tiny particles piercing them to oblivion.

You could mix the bismuth with a kind of plastic to make a solid sword but I don't know if it will react or something.
