Some kind of something that lives in the woods, mostly or even entirely in North America. May or may not be based on ancient Native American legend as well so my shitty greentext may be inaccurate here.

When you go into the woods and anyone gets separated from the main group a skinwalker will "get" them. This happens every time. If you have ever gone camping later on never saw any sign that anyone was replaced by a skinwalker, then you are just not looking hard enough.

What "get you" exactly means in unknown, partly because the "true form" of a skinwalker is unknown. Maybe a skinwalker is a ghost-like spirit that posses them, maybe they are some kind of physical being that crawls into them or otherwise wears their skin, thus justifying the name. Maybe they just shapeshift into a perfect replica and drop your camping buddy healthy and unharmed somewhere. No one fucking knows.

Information on skinwalkers is difficult to come across, mostly because they don't exist.
