No, the only true protection in this or any timeline is to join the "Oneness" and dissolve your ego.

Like let's say you played Mtg, and like you cast ascetisism on yourself , there's no more target for ghosts and spells to adhere to. Like shooting down the wind.

Cats have a purpose. They kill mice, which spiritually tend to hurt your wealth.

People with cats are richer than those without, for some unknown reason.

People with cats also are more likely to become schizo. Toxoplasmosa gondii is correlated a lot to spiritual cat-stuff.

honestly- maybe?

i won't go deep into the religious-spiritual type of stuff, but I do feel like cats (and other animals too such as dogs if they're your thing) give off more of a comfy/safer vibe in the area they're at. every now and then when I just went on a /x/ nope/greentext spree and start getting creeped out, i just go ahead and get one of my own cats and feel a bit safer at home

though i guess that falls under the 'and shit' category, ive seen people posting on /x/ saying cats can help you out with ghosts and spirits and such, but that's /x/ so who knows
>>
>>17677396
Uhm its like their primary objectives in the household. My cat is often occupied by "something" im not sure if hes protecting me but hes keeping "something" busy so I dont have to bother atleast.
>>
Cats have a stronger connection with humans which makes them desire to be near their owners IF they felt that connection in the living world. Cats can tell when you're sad and they can sense different "forces" of emotion, which is what ghosts are. When ghosts want to make itself known, it gives off "vibes" of energy or emotion such as love or hate. Cats are known to easily detect emotion in humans, so why not ghosts that give off the same thing?

Yes, but not just cats. Any pet that you enjoy the company of really.

They reduce stress and anxiety levels, which causes you to attract more positive vibes/experiences.

It just so happens that in western culture, cats are at the top of the cuteness ladder and so are pretty damn good at this. Unless your cat is a fucking asshole.

I think cats have to have something going on with them that involves the paranormal! There is three cats here that are feral, they only knew one human since they were born so when I moved in here, they were scared of me. I understood, but I would taunt the long pure black one like moving a little faster when I seen him and when he would come in my room I would scare him off. But I had a dream one night that said cat came in my room, I felt totally awake and just as I startled him he jumped at me and I was frozen, I couldn't move as he latched on my arm and started gnawing on it. I started moving and making noises and my bf woke me up. Needless to say, I never teased any of them again. They actually came around to me and let me touch them now but that dream was evil.

yes absolutely. for exorcisms the first thing i tell people to do is get a cat. I've learned first hand their power, and other exorcists and spiritual minded people have confirmed these things to me. I'm not ready to say for sure how exactly cats do what they do, or whats even going on, but a good little furry friend can be the best damn machine gunner your squad ever had.. better yet get two.
>>
I think I read somewhere that a cat's purring vibrates at a specific healing frequency.

Whether that's good for the cat or the human I don't know. I don't like that clawing shit they do when they're trying to get comfy though. What is that all about?

>>17690338
On the contrary. I've felt both the selfish, posessive, fickle and exploitative "love" of a cat and the genuine, unconditional, eternal and selfless love of a dog. Guess which one I'd ask to protect me from spirits, ghosts, or anything else.
>>
>>17690364
I have felt the genuine, unconditional, eternal and selfless love of a cat before, and the opposite "love" too from another one. You can't just say they only care about themselves because they can love and protect humans too.
>>
>>17690338
I was on a brief hiatus from 4chan til about a month ago and if someone could tell me what the t. thing means, specifically its origin, that'd be cool.

So far all I've been able to infer is it's basically a combination of ITT: and >insert (usually smartass or inflammatory) description of the anon whose post you link
>>
>>17690364
Iunno, probably the one that seems enlightened enough to actually be able to protect you. Loyalty sucks when it can't do shit for you.
>>
>>17690387
I've been back for several months now and I don't know what it means either, so seconding this.
>>
>>17690387
I can't remember the word but it's derived from a Finnish or Hungarian or Bulgarian word or something, that effectively means "yours sincerely" or words to that effect. The implication being that the post in question is from such and such.

Wait, I got it:
http://knowyourmeme.com/forums/meme-research/topics/33368-t
>I found that “t.” is most likely shorthand for terveisin, which is Finnish for “with regards”. Seems to come from Ylilauta and it has popped around quite a bit on imageboards.
>>
>>17690453
What about when not same anon post a (You) after their post numbers? What does that means?
>>
>>17690383
>they can love and protect humans too.
I don't deny that cats can love humans in their own way (which is the same sincere but vampiric way the Leanan Sidhe do, just to a lesser degree and with lessr returns), but they sure as shit don't ever protect them the way a good dog does.
>>
>>17690480
I don't think you've read or heard of enough animal rescue stories, anon. It's true that on average, dogs are more willing and able to help their masters, but a good number of people have literally had their lives saved by their cats too.
>>
>>17690469 (You)
Like that?

I'm not sure, I think it means they believe they are responding to bait and it's a way of saying "There, you got your reply (complete with a '(You)' after your post number), I hope you're happy!"
>>

I don't know if people here are serious, but my cat always reacts to my emotions. Why I'm sad, she rubs against my arm and purrs. When I'm crying, she meows loudly and hits her head on me. Gay? Probably. But I love my cat. And she would fight any ghosts that would hurt me if she could.
>>
>>17690501
Actually, the site adds the (You) when someone is quoting their own post. I think it was meant to deter arguments where someone claims another anon is samefagging, but since it's easy as hell to fake on a screenshot, it isn't very effective.
>>
>>17690492
>>>17690480 (You)
>I don't think you've read or heard of enough animal rescue stories
True, I've only had 40 years direct experience with owning various pets, so tell me about those rescue cats.

Not trying to be a jerk, I admit that my personal experience is a small sample size and I'm actually genuinely interested.
>>
>>17690508
I assumed the first Anon didn't mean the automatic (You), but the (You) when people actually type it out after the post number they're quoting, so that to the person they're quoting it appears as two (You)s. One automatic in red, and a second one typed out.

>>17690516
Looks like this guy did it, but that looks like a by-product of copying and pasting rather than a deliberate (You).
>>
>>17690505
Sounds like your cat is being used by demonic forces to manipulate your mood.
>>
I think cats and dogs are probably equally sensitive to the supernatural, so you could go with either one, depending on your preferences.
Insofar as protecting you from ghosts, etc. I can only tell you that I had three cats at one point, and also a ghost, and the ghost liked to fuck with them. Cat owners know the difference between ordinary feline craziness and genuinely-scared-cat, and its harassment of my cats drove me up a wall because what can you do to stop a ghost? This went on for some time, but fortunately, finally the ghost went away. (long story short on that: BF goes to bed first. I'm in a spectacularly bad mood as I follow some time later. He's on my half of the bed, which is a problem, because that's where my alarm clock is. On top of that, there's a dimly glowing cloud/blob a couple feet across hovering above and next to him, at the side of the bed. I was so pissed off that I did not fucking -care-, lol. I walked over, ducked down under it, and grabbed my alarm clock. As I stood up, I bumped gently against it. ... I never saw it again after that, and as more concrete evidence, my cats were left in peace. They were never harassed again.)

>>
>>17690526
According to research done by Rupert Sheldrake, dogs can sense when their master has set off for home, even though there is no evidence for this fact available to their five material senses. The experiments demonstrating this controlled for the possibility that the dog had learned a routine, or was taking unconscious cues from other researchers, by using a random schedule known only to the person coming home and researchers in a different building to the dog.

In at least one experiment the dog was alone, being monitored by cameras.
>>
>>17690550
Guides them to his master, the Prince of Darkness.

But seriously, has nobody considered the possibility that the cat might be somehow responsible for the deaths? Have they tried removing the cat to see if the suddenly worsening patient starts to get better? I'm not saying he smothers them or something, but there could be more to it than prediction of these deaths.
>>
>>17690577
Oscar has been doing this for years, anon, read some of the articles on him. Just try searching for "Oscar the Death Cat" or something like that. If a patient's family is uncomfortable, he is removed. And he is absolutely not responsible for the deaths. He doesn't much care for living people and will avoid them. He was once place in a room with a patient thought to be dying and left, with that patient lasting for some time after, don't remember exactly how long.

Even if you don't believe in paranormal explanations, it's not that far-fetched to think he may be smelling certain chemicals that get released as a body is dying and can thus figure out when a person's time is near.
>>
>>17690583
I'm just being silly. I think your explanation is the most likely.

There's a difference between love and neediness/dependency anon. Cats don't have the latter, so it's less obvious, but if you treat them well most will genuinely love you.
Check this out: https://youtu.be/aBW5dfRoG7Q
>>
>>17677396
If by "protect you from bad spirits" you mean "eat all the vermin thereby protecting you from illness" then yes.

People saw that here was less death and sickness with lots of cats around, and since they thought sickness was caused by evil spirits and the like the cats must be protecting them.
>>
>>17677547
>Cats are known to easily detect emotion in humans
That's just plain wrong. Unlike dogs, who read human body language and understand that it is different from dog body language, cats treat humans as large funny-walking cats. If you don't understand how to communicate with your cat it will often misread your mood and intentions.
>>
>>17692472
