I just love occult mythology and horror. /x/ is mostly garbage and nutters, but the good stuff is worth the visit.

They're stopped doing research in psy areas because there's no funding, not because it's been proven false.

There are a lot of first-hand accounts by credible witnesses of ghosts, so there's probably something there. Infrasound can account for vague images and a sense of dread, but not detailed apparitions or those who communicate.

David Paulides' work pretty well demonstrates that something is going on in the woods. Whether it's bigfoot or aliens or dimensional stuff, we can't say at this point. But it's real Picnic at Hanging Rock stuff.

As for that, Forteana. A lot of seriously weird stuff happens, and the explanations are just guesses. It's all easy enough for the general populace to ignore; it shows up in Ripley's Believe it or Not and in News of the Weird, but the only people who really pay attention to those are /x/phile types. Everybody else only knows about the ones that happen close to home, and if they want to get back to their normal lives they rationalize them away.
