This one is dialogue based. Strangely enough it's one of the shortest. I guess the stories were getting short because I figured out how to get a pint across with less fluff.

Here's my question for you, OP. When are you finally going to get these sketches all cleaned up and in actual comic form? You say it's nearly the end of this arc, yet nothing really looks "final" to me, still in the roughdraft stage.

>because of time restraints I have not been able to create the actual site for the comic. This works out in a way because I plan in doing the entire series hand-drawn traditionally in ink. I plan on using the already existing pages as story boards to illustrate while I'm working on the second arc. In the future if I do so I will post the 'roughs' here and the blog and the final works onto the site, if I choose to continue doing roughs.

Ive been working on this for a while and it was a now or never situation that I was dealing with I first started on it. After spending so much time working on the series I became impatient with myself and feared that of I didn't commit to it soon that I wouldn't follow through. When i finally the proper window of time to begin I jumped at the opportunity. I was really eager to get started on the series and so I rushed through the art and writing of the first arc. After a while I came to the realisation that I didn't rush the comic because i wanted content out, but because I needed to see something myself. Something to show to myself that I could commit to something. Sort of like proof of concept for myself. I would put the comic in digital format because that allowed me to cut corners. But now that I'm finding people that are actually interested in the comic and finding more time for my work i plan on doing everything with all my effort.

Btw, while I understand you already have all the drawings done and I don't mean that you should change it, just a little something about the last story. Seeing the wife's perspective was quite cool, but it made the attempted murder pretty blatant, rather than just the subtle wrongness you feel when it's told by the husband.

As the story goes on the situations become more and more obvious, and this helps confirm for the the protagonist that some shit is up, but your'e both right.That's a much better way of going about it. I'll try to remember to change that for the 'final draft'.

Ayyy, I just love this burglar character. There should be a story where he tries to explain what's going on to someone, but nobody takes him seriously because of how stereotypical he looks.

Did I ever tell you about the burglars story? he's going to be a reoccurring character in the next arc. He's cursed because he stole from a witch doctor or something and because of that he's cursed. Every door he opens himself leads to a killers home and he has to steal a certain item to break free of the loop.

He's supposed to be another of the few reocurring characters. The way the conversation is written, it comes off as if its supposed to be hinting at something but its not. At least not anymore. I had deeper plans for the conversation but those didn't end up working out that way.I'll rewrite that and some others once I get to the others

I didn't realize how tired I am at the end of the day. My grammar is just awful when I'm tired. That last post took me 15 minutes to write because I kept falling asleep on it.

X:opens the door and hesitantly leaves the group behind, the door opens to a dark and long corridor, at the end of this corridor sits andoor that gives off an ominous vibe and yet it seems so welcoming xtan walks this corridor and approaches the door. There appears to be much heat coming from under the door. Xtan knocks and a voice comes from beyond the door.
“Come on through the front door is for strangers.” exclaims an aged voice from, behind the door

The door opens to the engine room of the train.For an instant heat and flames shoot out the door. The room exudes an air of danger and yet the atmosphere has a comforting warmth to it.
BB-Hm, so the curious one has taken the bait. I figured you’d have the investigative eye out of the group.Close the door behind ya. You’ll let out tha cool air. Haha a little bit of conductors humor.

It's kinda funny that you mention EC comics. Way back when I was first doing the art for the comic I had it in head that I would do the series in a bronze age-silver age like style. I figure with each arc I can change up the art style a bit or something.

And maybe it would help a little if you drew her hair longer, like down to or past her shoulders. Depends on who's drawing her, really. Pic related. Sure, /x/tan is nothing but fetish fuel personified for most people here, but in a story with some actual plot, she doesn't need to be mincing around in her traditional stocking and panties set.

I actually did. They were a bunch of help, and I'll start applying them into my work over the next couple of days/chapters. I also had planned for her hair to grow until it was finally her traditional length.

You’ll be an archiver of sort. You see, I‘ve spent quite a long time on this here train and despite all the interestin folk I’ve seen on here, I feel like I’ve seen it all. Well we need someone to snap some pics of what’s out yonder. I don’t get to see much and I would like for ya to send me some pics of new stuff.

Well if you're ready to close the deal, why don’t you take a couple of pictures. Go through those cars all the way back to where you started. Snap a couple of pics get a taste of what you're getting into. I’d tell you to be wary of the crucible, but I think you know your way around the mountain.Well You know where the door is. You know only spirits go out the back door.

>This was written very weirdly and It was just a rough to have the keypoints hat I needed to bring up in the final draft. This was written with the intention of having Mr.Bones appear rarely just to check. The final version that I'm working on explains a lot of things better and doesn't drop the audience or XTP right into the situation. I feel like the talking skeleton does a good enough job of that.

I see it only fair to make some sort of exchange between us. give me a tail that is nothing but truth a tail light unit tell that you've kept this secret aliens hold no one a new and refreshing . primarily an old ticket taker on an old train this is the same old thing off all day leave someone asking for something fresh and new Freedom is yours.

X:opens the door and hesitantly leaves the group behind, the door opens to a dark and long corridor, at the end of this corridor sits andoor that gives off an ominous vibe and yet it seems so welcoming xtan walks this corridor and approaches the door. There appears to be much heat coming from under the door. Xtan knocks and a voice comes from beyond the door.

The door opens to the engine room of the train.For an instant heat and flames shoot out the door. The room exudes an air of danger and yet the atmosphere has a comforting warmth to it.

Well I see some potential in ya and I’ve got a way for you to apply them talents of yours.
Your ticket here says you're here for the long haul,but I’ve got a proposition for you. You see I’m in need of a photographer like you. You’ll be an archiver of sort. You see, I‘ve spent quite a long time on this here train and despite all the interestin folk I’ve met here, I feel like I’ve seen it all and heard it all. You the get the same old stuff, rehashed and retold over and over and over. Its aggregatin and there’s no real exploration anymore. But there’s a whole world out there of thing I ain’t never seen. Well we need someone to snap some pics of what’s out yonder. Dig through this cesspool of muck, and find that well of crisp and refreshing knowledge.

x:What will I be taking pictures of?
Nothing specific and nothing to crazy. Just the supernatural, paranormal,and paranatural. You’ll be a spook photographer. Your job is to get pictures of all the things that go bump in the night and record that. Now I’m not gonna lie to you, things can get dark and violent,and down right dirty sometimes. You’ll see destroyed lives, people devoured, and the unseeable and the unpossible. It’ll can get pretty wild sometimes,but just make sure you get the best shot you can.

Don’t worry, you're in no direct danger. Your immune as long as long as you don’t involve yourself. There is danger within every picture you take. You must impose a penance. This will be a reminder, to keep you grounded, keep you human, to WEIGH you down. For every death you’ve witnessed that’s one hole. Every soul that gets snatched, that's one hole. Every spook you snap, that’s one hole.People call em all types of things, burn bruises, sin swells,gore growths, horror holes. But me, I call em Crucibles. They toughen you up but they make harsh burns. Just make sure your picture displays the consequences of playing in the dark. That is the purpose of all of this afterall. Just take this ere and hold onto it. This is the first half of the deal, but it’s also your’e insurance. Hold onto it and you’ll see.

Well if you're ready to close the deal, why don’t you take a couple of pictures. Go through those cars all the way back to where you started. Snap a couple of pics get a taste of what you're getting into. I’d tell you to be wary of the crucible, but I think you know your way around the mountain.Well you know where the door is. It’s kinda ironic. They say only spirits go out the back door.

Everytime I try to change my art style or improve my art, I get artist block. Does any one know of any incantations i can chant or sigils I can draw to improve myself?

15 minute nap ended up being two hours long. I was having a bit of trouble drawing when I woke up but I was able to bust out some sketches of different hair designs and stuff. Probably upload some more soon and I'll work on drawing those monsters/2 sentence horror for practice.

I like the style of what I'm seeing, but how does it all tied together? Is it going to end up as a regular looking comic, divided by chapters?

Everything looks sort of comic-strip style, I don't know what to think.

Well there is going to be a story that serves as a background to everything, but most of the series or at least the next arc will be short stories. X-tan Prime(the protag) is hired by Mr.Bones to archive spooky stuff via photograph. Her first stop is in a hotel that is filled with people and creatures and their interactions with the supernatural. Every now and then she'll converse with the characters, but for the shorter stories she may appear in the background. Aside from that she'll have no impact on the stories.
In terms of the format, it should change pretty soon, I'm just trying to find what works best at the moment. The shorter stories will be in strip form, there will be solo images/adaptations that are literally one frame or panel, and more detailed stories will be in normal comic format.

She does. Just not all of them. There are some stories, like the two-sentence horror stuff that probably won't involve interviews because their short,sweet, and to the point. Expanding on it would be unnecessary and take the mystery out of them. She'll probably appear in the background of those.But, in the longer stories she'll probably just be talking to the narrator as the story is told or before/after the fact.

I did have one, though, for how /x/-tan's eye got all messed up, if you didn't have one. She's taking photographs, right? And they say the eyes are the window to the soul. So what if some supernatural creature sees her and doesn't like getting its photograph taken and enters or sends some of its power into her eye through the camera lens? And then her eye has weird powers or side-effects from it?

Yeah. That could definitely work. There was another story that I left out a story that would've gave context to the holes but I ended up dropping that. It over complicated the story. I guess I forgot to leave it out but a lot of the stuff posted was lost in the rough draft. When it goes on the site it will have that removed and a lot of the dialouge will be fixed. Getting ready to do a skeleton themed DnD game. My character is a dwarf skeleton named 8 ball. If this goes well I'll end up including him in the comic at some point.

Here's the rough for one and I'll have a complete of the this one and the next one soon. The design for this one is a lot like those retro-future robots by Hajime Soriyama. I'll have to change up the design to make it look like more than just a copy.

I think this one is a lot more charming, but a mix of both might work best for the story. The other one seems to have some cool elements from Metropolis, though.

I'm finally gonna upload the first half of the chapter to the site. I haven't posted any pages on the website in quite a while.
>I've been very tired these last couple of weeks and I've definitely been pushing my limits with my time, sleep, schooling, my social life and along with this comic. It hasn't affected me negativity but a lot of stuff has slowed me down. But im not here to give bad news. Although my schedule might get a little more hectic over these next couple of weeks, it's just as likely that my schedule will open up also. Either way in about three to five weeks I'll be absolutely free so production of the comic will definitely kick up. Im somewhat tired but I'll keep on pushing forward.

Let's hope so. I didn't realize until recently how much art I've pumped out for this thing. Doing this comic has made me want to improve myself significantly and hopefully I'll get to apply that desire once the second arc kicks off.

Here comes the scrapped chapter. I had planned on putting it after chapter 3:Chilly White Knight, but it was taking to long to write and I had too many changes to make.

In my life I’ve lost people and I’ve had to cut some people off. But that’s the cost of the ride to the top. That’s how I lost my brother.

promises and never looked to move up. A closed minded worker is pretty good when you wanna keep a tight budget . The big problem was that he always made too many promises. Long story short, the boy didn’t make the cut. Now in our family runs a big temper, a fuse cut extremely short, and this sent this man over the edge. Before I made him split he made me a promise. He promised me he’d get his cut. My brother wasn’t to sharp, so not a big fan of metaphor. What he said he meant literally.

>I didn’t see him for a while and I would've been worried had I not been so happy about my new crib. I got to the place and it was called ‘Eli Sehr Hostel’. Not what I’d call it, but sounded fancy enough for me. Well I enter the building and I’ come upon this extravagant glass elevator. Clear roof, clear doors, and a long way up.I hop on that bad boy without a second thought. As I’m going up I realize there's a strange creaking noise coming from the suspension wires. I take no mind to it and I press the button for the thirteenth floor. The button lights up but nothing happens. Then a knocking starts coming from outside the elevator. I think nothin of it and hit the thirteen again. After a minute of mashing the button 13 I give up. Before I can do anything else I hear a loud thud and tap. Out of frustration and curiosity I look up through the roof of the elevator to see if what’s up there is causing the elevator to not move. What I see spooks me to this day...

>At the top of the elevator shaft is my brother. In his hands he holds a sharp blade. And with it he is hacking at the suspension cables. He is getting his cut. He knows I live on the top floor and he wants me to fall all the way to the bottom just as he did. The elevator continues to shake and the doors refuse to budge. I’m mashing on all types of emergency buttons and nothing happens. I begin pressing floor numbers and the elevator begins to move. At first I thought this was a good thing and then I realize that I'm going up. And if I go up at some point this elevator will go down. Then the power goes out and there's no light in the shaft. All I can see is the sparks flying from my the blade and my brothers grin in the darkness. My brother is still hacking and slicing and the cord is getting weaker and the elevator is going higher and I keep pressing the buttons. I’m pressing 1 and 2 and 3 to get the elevator to go down and I just keep going higher and he keeps hacking and everything is backwards and the positions are reversed. Suddenly I realize my mistake. The roles are reversed and everything backwards.I think about my brother and realize his position, once you’ve hit rock bottom you’ve got nowhere to go but up. Cutting my brother off and taking all that money to live in not just any hotel, but a fancy German hotel. Then suddenly I hear a knocking sound. A grating sound. A tapping follows. And then finally the elevator falls. The wire snaps and the elevator falls and crashes into the ground floor.

I stopped sketching at this point because I didn't want to fall behind on the other chapters.

Now you must be wdering how it is I’m here telling you this story now and how I survived. A simple, closed-off,cut-off mind like yours isn’t experienced enough to figure this one out on your own so I’ll give you the answer. Well like I said I realised my mistake, which just so happened to be my brothers. You see in my ventures into the eccentric lifestyle I’ve come to learn a thing or two about Germany. And the people over there a from a different cut. They’re a different breed with a different way of livng.One thing I’ve learned is that they number their floors differently. They put the bottom at the top and the top at the bottom. I guess they mark the most important with a number one. A guy like me deserves number one. Leave it to the Germans to engineer a system like this. Well the elevator hit the floor and I figured since I was only on about the 12th or 11th it wasn’t that ridiculous for me to survive. But I’m tough guy with a tough comeup so it’s not to surprising that I walked away from this. Now you might think I felt some sort of remorse or regret. Well I don’t have to remind you about ‘the temper cut short’ that runs in my family. Well my anger and dedication and drive pushed me up those stairs and all the way to the thirteenth floor. And on the steps I met my brother and he was not happy to see me. I could argue that I was more unhappy to see him. Before I could get to him he collapsed.

>I understand that we're old men, but I wasn't expecting him to fall before I got to him. A tough strong breed my family is. I guess he didn’t have that bond the way I did. Well the police arrived and I threw some money their way, cut a deal and everything seemed fair and square. I scraped by the law and got off with a clean slate. My only regret is that my brothers life was cut short before I coulda got to him. I coulda patched up the situation my own way.

>I personally ended up liking this character, but there was just to much I didn't like about the story when it was in the rough stages. Well, once I get the final draft of everything together I could place it in this arc, but I figured it could work in one of the other arcs also. It just wasn't abnormal enough to have all that detail and work into the arc.

Things are cool on my side, I just needed a break from spooky drawings. Not a long one, just a day or so. For a while now, the only things I've drawn were for this comic. I just need a refresher. Im so out of practice its ridiculous. I personally prefer Rogue's big hair because I'm a sucker for 80's stuff. On a unrelated note this reminds me of this comic I've been writing for years. It's about this time-travelling go-go dancer. I would absolutely love to make that my next project once I finish up with this series. Another sketch or two and then the paranormal juices should be flowing again.
