Hey /x/
Break out the tinfoil my nigga because why the FUCK is nobody talking about this?! It looks like it's just barely started to pick up speed on the web.

>2.6 terabyte leak of Panamanian shell company data reveals "how a global industry led by major banks, legal firms, and asset management companies secretly manages the estates of politicians, Fifa officials, fraudsters and drug smugglers, celebrities and professional athletes."

This is Snowden level shit. It's almost 12 hours old and barely any media coverage.

It's fucking 2.6 fucking TB desu what is going on here
>>
or you faggots can just keep posting about how to summon a succubis to take your virginity
>>
What's so important? It's just business documents probably.

Best to just forget all about this stuff.
>>
I'll bump. Anyone got any highlights or important shit from this yet? 2.6 TB is a goddamn fuckton of data to sift through.
>>
>>17543235
Just read the link. Why didn't it mention a single name or actual piece of information?
>>
I actually saw this posted by a buddy on jewbook. I'm a bit confused as to why I'm learning about this on jewbook of all places before 4chan.
>>
Apparently information is being written up in stages. Wikileaks is having a vote for the full release of documents.

I found it on reddit earlier this afternoon. I think it isn't gaining traction because it directly affects the people who own the media - however, /pol/ seems to think otherwise - that this is a smokescreen.

I don't believe that - but I can see how it could be. We'll just have to wait for more.

They're not important. There aren't any Americans in there at all and its largely just showing off shore holdings of politicians. Bankers, Hedge investors, certain demographics are left pretty much untouched - its aimed at predominantly people from the right wing or right-of-center.

Oh and its funded by George Soros and the Rockefeller. So its basically just propaganda.
>>
>>17543319
that's what it feels like. all the people who have sought the high profile power that's uncovered in these leaks are going to be corrupt in some way or another, not all the names were compromised so I'm assuming that an agenda was behind this. +1
>>
Can someone link the /pol/ thread?
>>
>>17543319

Prove that, because a scrub like me has no way of finding out how one would go about procuring such information.

Further, the list is still being collected - in a response to the consistent commentary on Reddit about the lack of Americans, one of the journalists suggested that there will be more names revealed - that this was "the tip of the iceberg" if you will.

I think there's a lot more that will be revealed in the coming week. And even more so when Wikileaks dumps the 2.6 terabytes.
>>
>>17543335
I wish I knew how to use reddit, that sounds like a thread I would browse.
>>
Also there's a live update thread on rebbit. The media is allegedly releasing some more of it tonight

Further, call me a conspiritard, but I just had to go through four captchas to post; each with half a dozen boxes to select, the first being "trees" with a picture of a fuckton of marijuana, the others being about street signs and mountains.

Never had anything like those before.

The ICIJ is the people who leaked it.
They are a sub-organization of the CPI.
Which is directly funded by George Soros.

ICIJ lists Open Society Foundations as a funder.
Open Society Foundations is owned by George Soros.

When you look at the list of supports it reads

>Rockefeller Brothers Fund
>Rockefeller Family Fund
>Open Society Foundations

So, Soros and Rockefeller are supporting this leak.Which is not out of character if you know Soros' funding history;
>FEMEN
>Black Lives Matter
>funded anti-Trump protests to rile up hispanics
>funded pamphlets that help instruct the migrants in the European Migrant Crisis
>funding some new thing that is attempting to get a convention to reevaluate/change the constitution
>funding Hilary Clinton
>funding John Kaisch to take votes away from Trump/Republican candidates

So far the names haven't turned up anything new or interesting.

Posted in one of the /pol/ threads. Perhaps we can discuss validity and brainstorm how to avert a crisis.

Even if it isn't a reality, coming up with preemptive solutions and educating ourselves and the masses won't hurt anyone.

There is nothing worth while unless you think Slavs, Saudi Princes and the right wing politicians using tax havens is unique, new or press worthy. The political left leaning politicians, American bankers or hedge-fund managers etc. are not present. Look at who is funding the people who leaked it.

This is just propaganda telling us nothing we didn't already know or have suspicions of.

Politicians and many of them are current or former heads of state.

When you are a head of state and you tell your citizens to pay taxes but then it comes out that you are evading them while you are still in office as head of your state... it might be unsurprising but if it comes out with believable information, I'd say it's pretty big.

Among the names:
- Vladimir Putin
- David Cameron and family
- the Saudi Royal Family
etc.

You're right, it isn't news for those of us who are here, clearly not sheeple. Clearly aware of the underpinnings of our society, and aware of the itch that something has never been quite right or 'fine and dandy'.

But you have to realize that that ISN'T everyone. It's not even the majority. And what's worse is that even many of the people who know are resigned to us not being able to do anything about it (see >>17545215).

And they aren't wrong - unless we collectivize fucking HARD, and come up with a real plan, made not only by the ideas of the millions collected and with the aid of experts (aka, people ACTUALLY pouring their time into a thinktank) there really isn't much we CAN do.

These people are roughly untouchable. Guarded by technology, lives, and money - and if you are really conspiratorial, some of them guarded by demons and aliens. So it isn't like they can be 'hit'. Even if they could, you'd be silly to think they don't have a second.

So, yes, if we can give hard evidence to all of the sheeple, it may not wake them up, but it will give them an itch to scratch - and when they scratch that itch they will inevitably be drawn to the question "What else did I believe to be a conspiracy, a blatant lie of paranoia, that I have been wrong about?"

They will wake themselves up. But sometimes they need a catalyst. So even if in the end, this is a big shilling, the glimmers of truth amidst the piles of shit will have enough power to wake up some others who otherwise may never have been reached. The best lies distract from the truth by giving you a distorted image of that truth. The best lies hide the truth in plain sight.

And when the truth is contacted, people are changed.

Not everything on the Internet is a "revolution" Jesus Christ. Look at the CPI board of directors. Ayyriana Huffington HAHA. It's 2.6 TB of data, being sorted by... how many people?

Think about it. With all of what else is going on in the world, with all of what things people do or are doing... how easy is it going to be to meaningfully filter though the 11.5 million files, match all the dots, make it salient for anyone who's interested to read, alter the information with respect to worldly developments, get it past biased filters and entities, and then make sure that it is reasonably incorrigible?

You should be helping. Also... some people are reporting. I'll try liking the evidence- which I archived today just in case it got redacted because eager, upset editors and the like jumped the gun on their superiors/the attempt to sway the public that searches for anything with PP fails to garner any attention/whatever other possible scenario/etc.

Soros is a neoliberal, he was involved in the disastrous privatization measures in Russia and much of the former Soviet sphere, ie. basically sanctioned looting that caused a crisis comparable to the Great Depression. He's not a radical Marxist like /pol/ paints him, but rather an establishment neoliberal who exploits identity politics to serve his own agenda, much like the Clintons do. Really no different from left wing boogaboos like the Koch brothers who are only libertarians as long as it's in their economic interest. Or silicon valley magnates who only value 'liberty' as a pathway to tech autarky. It's all controlled opposition.

What's the best we can hope for from this leak? A medium sized organisation that provides shell companies for the mega-rich has to change it's name and tackle a pile of paperwork, and some guys probably get fined mind-boggling amounts. Messi gets a bit of stick from football crowds for being greedy, a few Labour politicians poke fun at their schoolchum Cameron from across the House of Commons for his dad's involvement, then it's back to business as usual.

Could it be:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_hangout
>A limited hangout or partial hangout is, according to former special assistant to the Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Victor Marchetti, "spy jargon for a favorite and frequently used gimmick of the clandestine professionals. When their veil of secrecy is shredded and they can no longer rely on a phony cover story to misinform the public, they resort to admitting—sometimes even volunteering—some of the truth while still managing to withhold the key and damaging facts in the case. The public, however, is usually so intrigued by the new information that it never thinks to pursue the matter further."

For example:
>2.6 TB of emails relating to financial details gets "leaked"
>entire world goes "TL;DR but fuck the rich and I fucking knew that putin was a greedy cunt, let's continue to point and frown at these naughty boys BOOOOOO"
>meanwhile, a group that hacks social media to fix latin american elections say they're now working for a US presidential candidate...
>chirpingcrickets.mp3

Might not even be a limited hangout. Maybe it's a scam. Where exactly are those fines going? A bunch of mega-rich fucks who aren't in The Club were lured into joining a supposed tax-dodging scam, and are now being "exposed and fined" by The Club. Trebles all round!

Call me paranoid /x/, but I call shenanigans.
>>
Any Americans named yet?
>>
>>17549309

>>
Its all over the radio.
>>
>>17549283
The real victory is that it puts this sort of thing in the public eye. It might make some people wake up
>>
>>17549330
People already knew there were tax evasion scams and accounting loopholes going on. This really isn't news, although it's being presented as earth-shattering revelations.

If there's a victory then it's in shifting people's attitudes a little more against the shafting they're getting on a daily basis. I guess it might make a few people extra mad and give them motivation to campaign and dig up more shit.

But I'm completely cynical about everything the mainstream media so much as looks at nowadays, so I'm looking for the angle, who REALLY benefits? At the risk of sounding like David Icke: Let's see how the media manages the public's REACTION to this PROBLEM and what SOLUTION they eventually have us demanding.

If the elites wanted to bury this, we'd have heard from almost all media that it's a fake, a conspiracy theory, and that'd be the end of it, if we even heard them mention it at all. They're saying folks got caught? Reputations are affected?

It's no surprise to hear Putin demonised, but Messi? Maybe, like I said, they're just scamming him, and others caught in this. See who gets fined and where that money ends up. Maybe a bunch of new-money rich folk who weren't part of the elite were using a favourite trick of the elite to avoid paying taxes (which is a source of income the elite enjoys). You don't get to avoid paying your tribute unless you're family, and Messi isn't family. Hence, he gets publicly busted and maybe fined, maybe just taxed, while Lord Moneybags continues to tax the whole planet with the global banking scam, and his billionaire friends who use a different bunch of shell companies get to keep their loopholes.

These "Panama Papers" could just be a list of people who aren't up to date with their membership fees and ignored their warning letter(s). Or it could be legit and we'll see some damage control, who knows?
