Your reasoning seems pretty sound, I enjoy their work, and find it somewhat exciting, but many of the things they stipulate are unrealistic (judging distance of sound in a dense urban environment, all those lovely cuts that go uninfected etc), but I suppose that is edgelord fiction for you.

Crossed is basically the same story every time.

There's some characters, they probably all die except for one who is a huge asshole, and there's a bunch of in-your-face "normal humans r bad 2"

Like it was an interesting concept at first, but after reading three or four of them, it's all the same. It definitely doesn't need a hundred fucking issues if nothing is actually going to happen.
