Has anyone here ever succeeded in necromantic rituals? I mean ... something measurable
a true necromancer/sorcerer doesn't need a ritual to control the dead or most any other form of matter. they are able to constrain souls and protect themselves from harm once doing so.
I once saw a wanderer bring a camel back from the dead. The camel was missing its ribs and most of its hide quarter, for it was mauled by a lion. Scary shit

I can aid in those wishing to learn a form of necromancy known as the val-galdr.
Norse in origin.
I am also a funeral director/embalmer. Ask me what you will.
How would one even get into necromancy? Like what books are there on the subject?

How would you get started?

>I once saw a wanderer bring a camel back from the dead.
OK, but necromancy is talking to the dead. Not undead husbandry.

Need a body, first off. Then you carve a few runes into some wood, and place the wood under the dead's tongue.
Ansuz
Ihwaz
Hagalaz

>place the wood under the dead's tongue
Wait, that'd be necrophilia.
