A commissioned a painter/friend to make me a deck. So far I have gotten a few cards, and that was years ago! I think I'm juts going to do it myself!

It is really unique to have a personal deck you made, with your interpretations/images, and family and friends as models! I am excited to make to for myself! and Disapointed in my painter!

haindl deck - unparalleled in symbolism and art, a very deep deck.
hexen 2.0 - pic related. i don't have a copy, i believe it is being reprinted this august. i don't know how to explain succinctly but it's very /x/
halloween tarot, celestial tarot (not as gay as it sounds, it's really very nice), and thoth (cliche but i like it) are all ones that have served me well.

hermetic tarot deserves an honorable mention here as well

I own a bunch, but in the end the one I love the most is the Deck of the Bastard by Seven. (pic related) It's classy as fuck, love the subtle coloring.

It's worked well for all types of clients except certain senior citizens, at which point I"ll usually switch to a Lenormand deck since it's so much more peaceful and pastoral looking. Can't remember exactly which one I use, lost the box ages ago... it's a pretty standard Lenormand, but the artwork is softened and smoothed slightly... oh and yeah I stuck with the oversized version because of my target audience there.

But if I'm being completely honest, despite how much I absolutely LOVE using the cards, I'm migrating away from them as I do more and more readings... last reading I did I didn't touch them at all except to casually shuffle as we talked.

I've been fascinated by the Victoria Regina Tarot for a long time... even over the Hermetic tarot, I think this is likely to be my next deck. It's just... classy.

But there's also something really powerful about the greyscale. Can't quite put my finger on what it is.

You know I'm very grateful for this thread because as I'm going through all the decks I've wanted to get, I realized I didn't have a record of the one I've wanted THE MOST... because the bastard overpriced it, but after all these years I find myself still desperate for it. The Tyldwick Tarot looks... perfect.

I think one way or the other this is going to be my next deck. Next reading I do will go to buying this sucker.

I use the Gatti Originalli, it's an italian deck I bought just because I liked the art. I didn't even intend to do readings with it but it sorta started happening

I tried switching to more traditional decks (like rider-waite) after that but I have trouble reading them, as if I can't understand what's going on despite knowing the basics. does that happen to anyone else?
