Have you ever seen how they do it? They literally feed them 24/7 until they are fat enough and then they go to the slaughter house. The process doesn't take long and each chicken can have lots of offspring to keep the cycle going stronger and stronger.

Of course beef is going to be more expensive because you have to wait until the cow grows, which takes longer and can't be forced as easily.
