story for the uninitiated please
>>
>>17479077
Alan Resnick (of Live Forever As You Are Now and Unedited Footage of A Bear fame) produced yet another 15 minute short for Adult Swim that aired at 4am a couple of nights ago. It is bat shit insane and merely a fraction of the entire story as the rest is being told through strange websites, videos and bits of code that we've all been tearing through.

If you haven't seen the short, watch This House Has People In It on YouTube.
>>
>>17479077
It's long and complicated, read the docs, it's basically un TL:DR able
>>17479086
this is as good as it gets
>>
Does anyone else think Lynx disease isn't real? The way the sculptor says "Wash your hands because lynx disease is real" in the video sounds incredibly disingenuous. I think someone else said that it's a cover up from something more supernatural going on. Maybe the stuff with X.
>>
Is it possible that Claridryl causes Lynks?
>>
>>17479106
I think Lynks might be a coverup for some deliberate procedure AB is experimenting on. the symptoms and causes/cures for Lynks are so varied and inconsistent that it doesn't to resemble any sort of traditional illness. Maybe Lynks is some sort of memetic condition where people get it after being exposed to some sort of mental stimulus?
>>
Lynks disease is the way people are going mad looking through various links trying to catch a glimpse of the truth.

It spreads through online communities (families) like a fire.
Madison,

I don't want to embarrass you in front of the rest of the family, but your bathroom breaks are becoming very problematic. Are you checking your phone on the T? We have two new members of our household and that means that we have to be more aware of how we share the space. Using your T time to look at the internet is very unhelpful and also unsanitary. Remember that Lynks disease spreads amongst a family like a fire.
This shits so creepy, especially with those lights in the back. I wonder what type of horror Resnick shows fall under, absurdist horror? There's like this underlying Lovecraftian existential type horror where not much is shown like the girl hitting the mattress which is still a big fucking mystery to me, what happened to her and why was it so intense? idk I guess there's just something scary about implied vague horror then something shown

I dont think its a gag. Everything has had a direct purpose so far. Im assuming it means we need to look at the information we gathered so far before moving on. Theh changed our focus from that site to our info for a reason.
Does anyone who was working on bruteforcing the login have a specific time when it redirected?

Fuck... I need to actually sleep but I'm with notOP that clues may actually be slipping into the doc now
>>
>>17479514

I don't recall, sadly.
>>
>>17479489
The site gave a 403, so I assume at some point that was to be removed and public access granted. Either there was never suppose to be anything there, the page isn't finished yet and/or he's thrown the doc in as a "Fine, suck on this"

Though as others said, it could be a low-key way to sneak in hints. It seems very ad-hoc for a 403 site though.
>>
>>17479515
what about this? seems very out of place, pizza?

I know the cords gave us PIZZA, this has to be a clue, or another ruse of some kind. It makes no sense for somebody to add that so oddly otherwise

AFAIK Boomy has little to no tie-ins with anything sculptor related so far, so I can't see how it'd make sense for B00my to be a password for the fan69 account.

This whole thing seems scattered with a few common threads pulling the subjects and events together though, so maybe it's worth a shot.

Earlier .txt files in the archive on the ABSOL site show Tom (can't remember for sure who else) scorning Madison for finding cigarettes in her possession. She later defends herself in emails too.

Connection somehow? Hope people aren't already on to this and I come off looking like a slow dipshit.

Unless it's going to do something goofy to the printer itself which sounds wholly unreasonable considering the scope of this thing, no, I doubt printing it will do much of anything. Then again, with this sort of shit, it kind of is worthwhile to do literally everything you think might help.

If anyone has any experience, it might be worthwhile to look for filetype headers in the pdf file. There was not a PNG header in there as far as np++ could tell.
>>
>>17479715
who? Alan?
>>
>>17479719
Yeah. It seems the idea is for it to be printed, and shown off like an award. It's a long shot, but that could maybe be what we're suppose to do, or at least wants us to do.
>>
I'm starting to think that the boomy picture is it's own ending. Like the youwin.pdf is a legit reward that someone such as a kid would like. It's like how on the cartoonnetwork site there are games you can win which let you download wallpapers and shit. Otherwise, anyone with a VPN who might want to try and bruteforce it, the IP is up there

Out of luck again~

So looks like he was doing something with the eyebrows the 1st of this month, probably earlier.

I wonder when they stopped shooting it.

a) If they stopped shooting early this month, then chances are both his pic and the families picture are the "ending" of their series

b) The videos that are unlisted and private... I think theyre the conclusion

c) We DEF. caught them offguard on the tomados website, 3 times theyve changed it during out bombarding.

So however this story ends, they end up without eyebrows, Alan makes a cameo (probably as the sculptor)

No one can get it to print directly. General concesus is that it wont be different. We played with it a bit. Darkened it. Mirrored. Overlayed it. Didnt get anywhere. Someone mentioned dina being tied with an art project where you printed and image over and over onto one piece to reveal something hidden but nothing substantial was done.

This is from the interview the he just posted on fb that i mentioned previously. A bit unsettling:

"Here is my non-answer. There are several mysteries to be explored, but there is no one question to be answered. I realize that is a terrible answer."

"Dina Kelberman made the site. I think we all are interested in ARGs. Dina's main goal in life is to make something so convoluted that only the most dedicated person will fully understand it."

>Just focusing on the parents [in This House] for now, some of the discussions we had during the early stages of the script revolved around depicting adulthood as pain. Unrealized dreams can make us into someone like the dad, who is weak-kneed, detail-oriented in all the wrong ways, theatrical, and ultimately useless. The demise of the mom’s dream has made her cold and indifferent, but she becomes a pragmatic person of action. Adulthood is painful, but it requires us to bury a lot of that pain, especially in the context of family. The event that occurs in the show is just the weight on the stress point that forces the adult characters to become exaggerated personifications based on how that pain changed them.
This explains the parents' behavior.
>We always wanted this to have a large web component. When we realized we could only make one episode, we felt like [it] was a disservice to the idea, so we used the website as a way of giving a fuller picture to what’s going on with this family. In an ideal world we would keep adding content, and continue fleshing out whats going on.
Does this mean more content will be added?

Sounds like it wasn't meant to be a full on ARG. Just a strange short that, if you wanted to dig into it a little more, you could screw around with the web stuff which has pretty much now all been found.

It was just a crazy thing they made.
>>
Remember that they may just be trying to get us to stop to weed out those who arent super interested or determined.
>>
>>17480646
There are so many loose ends though. If everything can't be explained then it isn't over yet
>>
>>17480646
Pretty much this. I assume the whole Clayrodil website with the submerged hands was just a foreshadowing or recycled idea for THHPII.

>It was just a crazy thing they made

I'm pretty sure this was the case. Most events written in the log were probably meant to be absurdly creepy vignettes with no explanation (head caving, no hands, dogs)

Although that climax about hand holding is god damn creepy. I'm still not sure where the comedy comes in, outside of dropping eerie stuff like this when stoners are expecting shitty Family Guy reruns

What i find odd is that with all the talk of the dog costumes its not in a single video yet we know they used them. If i didnt already think i was crazy i would think they are intentionally misleadibg the public into thinking its over after the griefing kotaku cuckfest last night.
>>
>>17480676
they said it in the interview

They wanted to make this into a show with many episodes, they ended up being able to do just 1 so they crammed as much as they could.

Its obvious that most of the loose ends were meant for further story development, but with 1 episode, we found everything that was to be found, the rest is still inside alans and the teams head

>I think this entire thing is an attempt at engineering superhumans via the Lynks virus by directly exposing it to the populace. Lynks, while causing death, decay, and dementia, also causes perfect singing and matter phasing. AB Surveillance Solutions is monitoring a town while purposefully spreading Lynx to see the effects and see if anyone is immune to the degenerative aspects. This explains all the different subject numbers (everyone in the town is a subject), and Boomy (a town member who developed superspeed b/c of Lynks).
>The town being quarantined makes sense. It’s mentioned once that you “shouldn’t go too far, or they’ll think you’re trying to leave”. The baby in THHPII escapes in the chaos, and is replaced by a doll in later entries. Their dog runs away, and they’re seen wearing dog costumes to make up for the loss. Jack wonders why he can’t invite people from the old neighborhood to his birthday party.
I know this whole thing isn't supposed to have an answer, but now that we're closing this story, I'm more than satisfied with this theory.
I will miss the family's wacky shenanigans, the characters from Subject 1's book dying, Subject 1 and 2 turning into monkeys every now and then, boomy.exe, and Alan's weird sculpture show. It was a short but entertaining ride, I won't forget it.

See you on the next ride you glorious bastards.

Yeah, mission accomplished, it seems. It's what we thought with the speed at which Dina nabbed tormadoes.

The site was picked up by her so it couldn't be abused by a gamejacker. If it had been part of the game, they would have set it up already--someone as careful with their material as Dina wouldn't let a huge project like this leave pieces in the dust. It's redirecting to the Google Docs as a way of saying, "Don't look HERE, everything you need is THERE."
>>
>>17480615

>>
>>17480747

I think they expected us to get the joke right off the bat. I had, which is why I wasn't surprised there was no tormadoes, but then suddenly, the website got booked by Dina, and I was interested.

Alan was channeling his Alantutorial character for a good bit in that Scultor's Clayground video, so making shit up on the fly as "official" or something you can fact-check based on his advice is natural to him. More of Alan's humor.

>>17480743

>>
>>17480750
To be fair, a couple slenderman ARGs have been good. The character is somewhat cliche I admit but it works. EverymanHYBRID was fun if a little cheesy, and Clear Lakes 44 looks like it'll be interesting. What we need are more comedy horror stuff like this. Funny, but still creepy.
>>
>>17480743
>do you want them to tell you in the next one you have to literally drive to fucking Baltimore to pick up an envelope in a sewer grate that's written in a Soviet code?
Not that anon but yeah, actually. Other ARGs have been able to do crazy shit like that, compared to them this is only a 6 out of 10 on the depth scale.
That doesn't mean I didn't appreciate the effort, they obviously put a lot of work and thought on this.

Kind of amiguously, with the creators admitting they liked people's personal interperations despite having their own confirmed answers. The generally accepted conclusion ties a lot of things together nicely in regards to the MH crew and the totheark guys, with the "operator" continuing to be a mystery. That's why I hope Clear Lakes 44 is a completely seperate story but with the operator being the consistant character.

I still think he's affiliated with AB, since the main movie makes specific mention to him at the end as well as hidden logs focusing on him. He could possibly be Sam, and was extracted from an asylum (hence the gown) or "prison" in the sculptor's case. He effects anyone he either comes in to contact with, or people who merely see his presence. Whether or not he actually spreads Lynks I'm unsure of, but he certainly effects things in the world in various ways, almost like a curse.
