If the comment you're about to make looks anything like one of the quoted comments don't bother commenting. It's been done to death and frankly it's a boring waste of time.

Doctor good man. You break leg, he make leg work again.

Problem doctor is because doctor think he know when he don't know. Is why psychiatry is big problem, because doctor don't look at brain like other doctor.

If you have body problem, doctor good.
If you have head problem, not so good. But you call me, I fix head no problem, very cheap, very good deal.

I've been trying to talk to the Holy Spirit to find out if I can be saved, but I fear not. Last night I had a dream, and the Baphomet appeared in it, seated, and I was able to ask him questions. He told me the day that I'm going to die. What are the chances this was real? For me to have spoken to him does this mean am I already going to hell? Like, would he have not been in my dream if I weren't going to hell indefinitely?
>>
>>17463653
To be more clear, I was in a location.. some kind of massive, COLLOSSAL cave system with hostile inhabitants, and there was probably 1/4-1/2 foot of water on the ground in the area I noticed the Baphomet sitting in, indian style. I asked several questions and got the answers immediately.. I can't remember any of the questions except the date of my death though.

It is as often your reaction to it as the vision itself that is meaningful. Look at how you felt as much as what you were told. Even very disquieting things presentied in this manner can be reassuring, though they are in fact only vikalpa crying out against their own extinction and ultimately illusion like all else.

On a related note, I find it interesting that most historical occultists were expected to have some skill at drawing, and today, there are few artists that don't have some knowledge of the occult.
>>
>>17463672
Could this be a sign that I'm going to hell then? I've been seeking an answer to this for days now. Some people discomfort or terror when they look at images or in dreams see the Baphomet. For me I was entranced the moment I saw them and had to go near, knowing that I could ask questions. Forgive me if you don't share the same view of a literal spirituality and afterlife.

Sorry I messed up making edits. Im sure you can still understand but, just know I'm not a dummy.
>>
>>17463731
It's all the same either way. Literal or figurative.

First, most dreams not had by children take place in some kind of underworld or cthtonic realm. My last few were in a mall, an airport, the eternal underbelly of a school, and a labyrinth of abandoned buildings, all taking place between dusk and dawn. This is just where dannk dreams happen. Hell isn't the right word for it. It can be hell, it is hellish in many ways, but is not ultimately hell. Maybe one of the buddhist lokas, like the realm of animals or hungry ghosts and not necessarily permanent as nothing is.

Second, what I was attempting to say and failed to do on my part was that it's more about your reaction to it. It means, in my limited interpretation, that you are still afraid of death. Or that things that aren't truly you are afraid of their host not being afraid of death and are casting illusions to sway him.

Or, baph is what baph is. He's like the Freudian id. Das Es. It wants what it wants but has to go through you for it. You, I assume because all I am capable of is making assumptions based on myself and what I know, want to make peace with it which is why you are drawn to it. He excites your animal nature, is your animal nature. It's up to you on how you react to what he says. I generally treat such things like the children that they are. They can be right and wise beyond measure, but that can also be petulant, ammoral little shits only looking out for themselves without even knowing what is truly good for them beyond the tip of their penis or ego or other controlling sense organ.

He is the child within us all. Our ego, our limited perceptions that fool us with illusions. He is all we generally know. He is self serving, self interested, deceptive. Dependent on us. He is maya and Mara, illusion and death.

When he offered the Nazarene all the kingdoms of the world, he was offering the knowledge already possessed of the fundamental weaknesses of man. He is the world, like, in the tantric sense, in the sense of the phenomenology of perception.

Also between goetics, angyali üdvözlet, the bible, Chinese cartoons and a lifelong friendship with the little bastard, he appears to me as a blond boy with daddy issues. To you he probably looks like the thing you find most dangerous and powerful. A politician or a Pope or some such. Maybe a rock star or an ogre. How you see him says a lot about you.

"I will do this for you even though you are quite aware that this path was not trod upon except for "two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough" (Isaiah 17:6) -- these are the ancient elders, the scholars of Spain who delved in the palace of Samael. It is a long and deep path and it eludes all masters of wisdom of the hidden emanation, the "depth of good and the depth of evil." Techniques which rely on dozens of thick tomes about theory.
If all you want is practice, read Oven Ready Chaos, that's literally all you will understand how to do without reading those dozens of thick tomes.

If you want to actually progress beyond pretending that you're getting results, I've got bad news for you.

All that said, I very highly recommend Igor Ledochowski's "The Power of Self-Hypnosis" audio training CD's. It's nothing very innovative, but it's well put together, and there is very little I can disagree with (as Igor also has a tendency to actually base what he says in science).

>>
>>17464884
Read a bit of that oven ready chaos shit. Sounds like a bunch of lunatics honestly.
>>
>>17465054
It's one of the most straightforward tomes on the subject, you are just too much of a lunatic yourself. When you view magic as a cure for autism, you see that everything is a metaphor for something else because the thing itself is a bitch to describe and any book that does brings up the story of the blind men and the elephants and invariably commits the same mistake.

What I am saying is that you need to say fuck it and just get schwifty or your a fucking autist. I don't know how to make it any more clear than that. Get schwifty and actually do to understand. Also most of the people writing and making use of this shit have like 3 degrees and memberships in at least 2 occult societies.

is synethesia occult? I think it could be used pretty good in terms of rituals and the like, projecting visions onto stuff, cross sensory association kind of like mantras or sigils and so on. I'm currently reading up on practiced synethesia, though I've always been able to do stuff like see or feel music, I'm learning to try stuff like assigning numbers colors and projecting images.

I am imagining it would be a pretty useful or at least creative if combined with occult or magickal practices.

Not occult, just a symptom of higher sensory coherence with fewer self-imposed limitations on that.

this.

I've experienced the phenomenon in altered states of consciousness. It's not occult, but it is awesome, and I think it can help with seeing the relations between your senses. Again, like, define. "New Age" can mean anything or nothing. "Wicca" can mean anything from Scott Cunningham's books to BTW or Cultus Sabbati.

I got a few hundred texts worth of academic analysis on ancient cultures and translated source scriptures. You won't get as much tradition in Evola as you will Neoreaction. Read the actual traditions instead of some dude's comments on them.

Kinda hard to find a spiritual tradition that the greater West hasn't touched in some capacity.

I've never actually seen a nonwhite pagan discriminated against in a neopagan community. I'm sure it happens in a few Asatru circles, but those are few enough and far between enough that I would hardly call them representative.

But yes, obviously people should only learn about and integrate their own culture's practices into their lives, because there's not anything resembling a long history of syncretism and conversion through history.

Also a few threads ago you were question my comment about deconstruction as banishment. If I had to pick a source for that argument I'd go with book two of "Essay Concerning Human Understanding". Most of the things that really trouble us come from ourselves. Or at very least we are the pallet that trouble is played upon and clearing the slate will dissolve most problems.

>Most of the things that really trouble us come from ourselves
I don't exactly disagree and this is the Buddhist tradition.

I still can't fully jive with a rejection of the spiritual model. I counter your Hume with Levinas' Totality and Infinity. Remember, Hume cast the works of Theology into the flame, not necessarily the perceptions leading to them. The image of a table diminishes with distance, but not the table itself, I'd say the same with the image of Alterity and diminishment via theology.

Not Hume but Locke. Not the outright rejection of all things theological, but the thought that we must apply what reason we have to gods as well.

Pople give too much credit to Manson, he was simply an ex-convict with too much charisma for his own good that developed a following of idiots with mental problems. He didn't had any idea of what was going on, and had these ridiculous paranoid delusions of racial war that led to him freaking out, and the rest of the family reacting accordingly. In the end, the killings were all orquestrated by his followers, he just followed them along because he was a sociopath with no idea of when to stop. To say Anger had anything to do with it is absurd, Manson was unstable from before he had even got to jail.

I'd be, roughly, inclined to agree.

>He didn't have any idea what was going on
So that's why he only took half or quarter doses of acid while feeding the Senpai handfuls?

>paranoid delusions
There's reason to suspect the Helter Skelter theory was not a core Senpai doctrine but rather a singular rant or exercise fixated on by the girls and used as a tool by Vinny B. to help shut down the hippy culture, one of his stated intentions while running for office. To support this, films were confirmed to have been removed from Roman's home showing he and Tate engaged in orgies. Some alleging to have viewed the film reels claim Manson's girls were in them. The Tate/Labianca murder makes, like, waaaay more sense given Chuck's habits in dealing with debt (the ear he took).

>the killings were orchestrated by his followers
Sorta; I'd imagine the vast majority of the build up was Tex and the hens squawking about how to get them phat stacks out of the rich Hollywood perverts.

>to say Anger had anything to do with it
He was at parties at Solar Lodge. So was Chuck. So was Lavey and like fifty or so other regulars. You can say they occupied the same physical location for a few hours a few times without it equating to a huge conspiracy. This is SoCal in the fuckin' late 60's, everyone knew and was probably porking everyone else.

The sex tapes are common enough knowledge to get mentioned in "Sharon Tate: A Life" but that specific info's been floating around for decades, I'm not exactly sure where I first heard the allegation that Chuck's girls were in some of the reels - it's hard for me to narrow a search on the terms, all the relevant girls were at the murder scene and again it's common knowledge that fucktapes were confiscated from the estate so I'd really have to hunt for a minute to pull out anything concrete.
>>
>>17469548
The theory may route through Barry Dubin:
>This was revenge for a drug burn. Sebring was burned for a couple grand on a cocaine deal. Three days before the murders the alleged perpetuator of the burn was held at Mama Cass Elliots house where in front of about 25 people he was stripped, whipped, . and videobuggered. Revenge is what followed. In addition, it was believed that Tate would not be home that night. As far as LaBianca, he was in debt to shady figures over bets on horseracing and had $200,000 missing from his grocery company. On the Tate murders investigators were all over the place on motive because so many people had a problem with with one or two of the housesitters, and perhaps RM as well. The deeper one digs the less plausible random Helter Skelter is, even if that is what Charlie sold it as.
That said...
>the only verified videotape in existence in the one that was found in the Cielo loft after the murders -- the one of Sharon and Roman. If any of these other tapes existed, don't you think someone somewhere -- an author or reporter or anyone with deep enough pockets -- beyond the alleged participants would have seen it and/or widely distributed it before more than four decades have passed.
Though, I wouldn't begrudge a 1969 police department from quietly disposing of 16mm films of hardcore bifuck Hollywood funtimes with the perps, especially if it served a political agenda to withhold them.

Other. I'm a *GASP!* convert who went through his initiation and everything.

Mt. Cafcuh, the mountain of legend? It's supposed to be in Chechnya if it's real. It's supposed to be an outpost of ancient sorcerers in myth, many Zoroastrian (in the Mazdakian sense), but who refused to abide by state Zoroastrianism. Pro-Reform types like me tend to lean towards that interpretation.

As to Zahhak, depends on which one.

To elaborate further, "Pro-Reform types" are usually ones not influenced by Hinduism or Indian custom like the Parsis and the Ultra-Conservatives. We're more Iranian in thought and lean more towards the way older stories passed down in oracular fashion. Also, most of the Avesta should be viewed as the biggest attack on Zoroaster's legacy. Y'know, Zoroastrians believe that destroying ignorance contributes towards the Cosmic Battle in the favor of the Wise Lord, so I have no problem with this.

Zahhak was actually believed to have been created by a cabal of mobeds seeking a way to make an incarnate form of the old druj "gods" so that they could show how powerless the daevas actually are. Apparently, it didn't work and Zahhak is actually still out there somewhere, either as some sort of badass anti-hero trying to figure out its own existence or something more akin to Al-Khidr.

as a rootworker, I think the list of "acceptables" there is a little short. The truth is many of these systems have been sharing things for probably thousands of years, they sort of run together, and if you deeply understand one or two of them, they all make sense.
That said, Im not a fan of wicca either as it is disingenuous, if not outright plagiary which inevitably corrupts the potency of the work.

>>17469830
I think the trick to doing it, is specifying what it is for, and explaining how it is different than /omg/ and why in order to keep it cohesive and intelligent while avoiding the inevitable stupidity the subject can bring up.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCcccccck, seriously?

Still wanna hear about them Towers of Silence. I wanna know what the rites for the dead were as the year progressed, and how much contact there was with bone, for example if it was used in any capacity for ritual purposes or if they all got swept into the central pit.

Was it thought that "demons" lived in the central pits?

Studying Korean Shamanism, Shinto, and Shenism in China. It's amazing stuff, to be sure. The Koreans and the Japanese both worship gods and call their religion "The Way of the Gods" in a similar sounding name. Also, a lot of the shamans are female in both, historically and in modern times. I kind of wish I knew Korean, so I could study these people more closely. I've been trying to learn both Korean, Japanese, and Chinese to no real avail. It's not easy to do that, which is why I'll probably never infiltrate their number. Long live Joseon-guk!

AL has the meaning of "god" in Hebrew, which is why it is more fitting of a book such as Liber AL vel Legis. It places it firmly in the same stream as that of the Torah and the Gospels. It's a book for a people not bound by a canon of laws, but by a harsher code to "Do what thou wilt" and nothing more.

>>17469853
I forgot to mention here that the shamans are initiated by sickness, which kind of limits how far one can go. One can watch a gut, but not be initiated. I am a bit disappointed. I would like to be the foremost authority on as many mystical traditions as I can, but it seems some are just impenetrable fortresses.
>>
>>17469881
>initiated by sickness
Explain.
>>
>>17469851

Ugh, the Vendidad. Horrible text, created some super cool customs like the Towers, but even Zoroaster was interred. I don't know much about the rites (though one of the folks I know must have them somewhere...), but keep in mind they may have popped up as late as the birth of Islam or possibly even later. As to what conventional Zoroastrian thought says about the ossuary pits, no demons and there are stories of folks collecting the ash there to be used in their sacred fires.
>>
>>17469881
>It places it firmly in the same stream as that of the Torah and the Gospels
I'd be way more quick to place Libri 65&7 over there, besides, there's a decent chance L was an after-the-fact recreation.

Cultus Sabbati is a group founded by Andrew Chumbley who was working on his Ph.D. in History, he put together this odd synchretic witchcraft group as a project working with the Typhonians. He's got some really obscure chains of initiations, like via the Kaula, etc., and I have very strong suspicions he was A.'.A.'.

May I ask if you're newish here?
>>
>>17469896
The shaman endures a kind of sickness of the spirit, which is hard to really nail down. Most people would call it a psychological disorder of some sort, but it is not exactly that. The sickness is a crisis that the Shaman comes out of by means of initiation - usually through a rite called a gut. One has to be struck by this sickness and come out of it to be considered a full shaman.

>May I ask, are you a bit new here?
Kind of, but I've seen you folks around a lot. I think we should properly introduce ourselves.

>Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

I'm a guy who loves esoteric subjects and just thought I'd post in one of these threads. I collect books. I drink coffee by the bucket. I'm a Thelemite with a bit of a sense of humor, hence the "name" on here. I wouldn't want to disrespect the memory of the real Perdurabo though. He was greater than I in a lot of ways.

Love is the law, love under will.

I've been here for a few years, if you notice I have the Yorke Microfilms of the Warburg collection up there. I'm a Thelemite too. Sorta Caliphate and A.'.A.'.

I ask because I don't wanna offend by my questioning the veracity of L, (which I do accept, just the words, not the myth of Cairo), and Cultus Sabbati's been a topic that's only cropped up in the last year or so, because they dropped Dragon Book of Essex, so I sorta have the expectation that are regular followers know a wee bit about CS.
>>
>>17469959
>I ask because I don't wanna offend by my questioning the veracity of L, (which I do accept, just the words, not the myth of Cairo)
Well that's fine. No offense is really to be had. I think that the idea of calling the Book "Liber AL" is just a really lazy way to mention it, as far as my use of it goes. I also kind of like the Hebrew connection, but it's not something I'll give too much of a whit about. As for the Vision and the Voice, there's a book worth splitting hairs about.

>Cultus Sabbati's been a topic that's only cropped up in the last year or so, because they dropped Dragon Book of Essex, so I sorta have the expectation that are regular followers know a wee bit about CS.
Do they sell books for huge sums of money? If so, that might be why the name didn't stick really. I've heard of them, but the Latin threw me off for some reason. I'm turning into a Chinkophile and forgetting my European pride.
>>
>>17469926

>Caliphate and A.'. A.'.
I've been an aspirant to the A.'. A.'. and can't claim to be anything else, unfortunately. I think the whole idea of grades is over emphasized by people who don't know any better. Study of Enochian Magick basically made that easy to see, as well as other sources like OSIS and the Equinox. That isn't to say that the grades don't have a point, but that all are aspirants of some kind. I've had some crazy experiences with stuff like Resh and even Liber O. I can't believe I forgot about that one, but I had to think a bit. That's what happens when you stop reading about a subject. It just goes poof...gone!

I'm a little late, but the general idea is that you have to die to be reborn a shaman. Sometimes it's a frail childhood that detaches you from this world, if briefly. Usually it's, as you say, a psychological sickness or existential crisis. In certain microcultures, it's a sickness unique to them, a culture bound syndrome or somatic disorder similar to hwabyeong or koro, except it is more the symptoms of a meme to induce shamanism. Powerful shit. At least this is what I've gathered from people with more degrees, deaths, or time climbing the tree on spectral battlecats than I.

Yeah, about that...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Weishaupt
>6 February 1748 – 18 November 1830

The rituals of Weishaupts Illuminati have been available in English for about a year and a half. There's a copy sitting on my shelf. Care to point out which rituals and where that are Satanic...y'know, between all the Docetism and Biblical quotation ala Freemasonry.

I mean it's a cute theory you've got there, but historical record and academic analysis plainly show the Bavarian Perfectibilists were suppressed to the point of extinction by the Prince.

The most popular survival theory has been debunked a bajillion times, as the dude writing Prooves doesn't know the names of the people he's writing about and pulled the contents of the letters out of his asshole.

If you gonna drag the Jew shit into /omg/, at least refer to them in an according fashion - Sabbateans/Frankists/Saturn worhsippers.

Besides, William Milton Cooper's and Carroll Quigley's and Michal Trsarion's and heaps upon heaps of other researchers demonstrated that while some of their elites are complicit, it's only a part of what's going on.

Man, I remember when being a conspicy nut was about reading A LOT OF BOOKS, listening a lot of radio, and doing cross-reference like crazy, instead of spouting off second-hand memes and misinterpreted assumptions.

This is entirely accurate to the best of my knowledge. I think the idea is that because the person has sort of slipped over to the "other side" (via a near death illness, madness, etc.) and come back, they have a sort of hotline to the spirit realm.

Different cultures treat this differently but it seems to be a common element that a shaman has a special connection due to their brush with the great beyond.

Harner discusses this extensively, as does Castaneda obviously. Its also discussed in "Aboriginal Men of High Degree" by Elkin, though that one is a very dry scholastic examination that Im not sure always conveys the emotional and spiritual context to the people.

Some still practice that. Notably some afro-carribean diaspora houses, I'd actually really value that experience personally.

>>17470944
>It's either death or a thing that stimulates death.
The simulation of death is important initiatory symbolism so that you can be 'reborn' An ACTUAL brush with death in some manner (required in most shamanic practices) is a different matter though. One is under your control one is not. They're related practices but I think it's not fair to state that they are the same.

The initiatory simulated death you experience, the shamanic death you survive.

I think that dichotomy has always existed. Those with the near manic desire to research and make connections even if tenuous, the Wilsons of the world; and the political esotericist who will believe anything so long as it makes them feel special and above all the "sheep".

Thanks for the libraries, been grooving on some of Surgo's shit, gonna read the JSK and zoroastrian stuff from The Temple after i finish the library books i got due soon.

y'all know if there's any good records of folks intentionally using hypnosis tech in a magic context? Not like in Surgo's 'define hypnosis broadly and it subsumes the field of magic', but in the sense of using techniques devised and developed by hypnosis practitioners in magical operations? Say, to rapidly set up an elaborate ritual environment psychologically for a ritual, or to attain yogic trances, ease astral travel etc.

>>17473070
yeah, but see it from their perspective, if you didn't know anything about this shit and saw people talking about doing magic, wouldn't you ask "can you actually do magic", or if your feeling less charitable, "do you actually think you can do magic"?
>>
>>17473070
You know, at first I just thought Chumbles was being edgy when he called them the Profane, but then I realized he was also right. Especially as they are all so autistic as to be ignorant of any metaphor, often willfully so, all the while spilling irony on the floor like a drunk hipster with a yardlong PBR when they try to talk about confirmation biases and pretentiousness. Almost, but not quite entirely unlike self aware.

Yeah I made magic rings linked to specific hypnotic states and it saves hours of rolling around in the floor and getting candlewax everywhere. Also dressed up basic hypnosis with my own idolatry to make it more personally effective.
>>

Well now it tastes like pisswater and gives me a headache after the first one. Not that it does the job as I transcended hipsterdom and trade craft beer for stuff I make. Mostly landscapes, also erotic watercolors.

All for that (You) bby. Well, that and I'm right. If it were shit you could refute it but I used an analogy so it probably went entirely over your head. You've pretty much walked into an anthropology thread and asked if culture is real or an English class and asked if grammar or real, or a /lit/ thread and stated that you can, in fact, know something while quoting the Cartesian.
>>
>>17473260
The bottom line is that you cannot provide anything to support that magick or the occult can produce verifiable results. I see through your stupid analogies and cryptic jargon.
>>
>>17473271
I can tell my apprentice (not you, you have the wrong karma and parents that are related) what I did and he can verify my results. You can, in fact know something, and that is how it is done.
>>
>>17473271
Even if the psychological model is right and it's all in your head, then it can still be measured via qualitative interview and survey.

Wanna help devise instruments for inquiry? We can use "Neurotheology" and "Kabbalah: A Neurocognitive Approach" and a few measures I found a few years back w/r/t dreams and spiritual content as our baselines, and if I we can get it past human testing, past prephase, past, etc., and can publication nibbles I'll give your name first, before mine, in the citation.

Not lab controlled, verifying the psychological model would go a long way into placing occultism writ large next to the contemplative traditions in Tibet and among the Hebrews, along with a handful of others that are getting actual attention from the academic community. Sufis and Catholic Nuns have gone under the Neurocognitive microscope, not sure what's been up the last three years or so, should probably play catch up with the lit.
>>
>>17473339
No I don't and that is the problem. How can you believe anything is verifiable when you can't even verify that the words we are using mean the same thing. Communication is entirely in how it is received and what the intend of the speaker was, is for all intensive porpoises, irrelevant except to illustrate my point and further rustle you. My inner demons are more jewish in their debate tactics than you, you really need to step it up here.

Didn't hear about those, could anyone please sum up the findings? I'd especially be interested in broadly identifiable similarities and differences in what they've found for different groups of contemplatives. I can't check the journals, I aint in Uni!

That reminds me, I read in a Zen magazine a few years ago about a full battery done during a retreat. Fuck if I can remember where or what zine, I want to say it was in Colorado and definitely not tricycle, possibly a quarterly. Never did hear what came of that but I swear I'd seen something recently that quoted something involving practitioners and metta bhavana in relation to compassion centers in the brain.

What would you think of using an MRI during astral projection, evocation or general meditative work?

There are also those who claim that they can speak to entities face to face during scrying or through other mediums. Is this something you claim to experience as well?
