http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/frbs-mystery-repeating-radio-signals-discovered-emanating-unknown-cosmic-source-1547133

>Repeating radio signals coming from a mystery source far beyond the Milky Way have been discovered by scientists. While one-off fast radio bursts (FRBs) have been detected in the past, this is the first time multiple signals have been detected coming from the same place in space.

Is it finally happening?

Which is 6 billion LY away from us.

Anything sending a signal at that range is either 5.9 billion years dead or evolved into extra-dimensional energy beings who no longer desire communication with lesser carbon-based forms.
>>
Anyone else remember the post last week of an anon claiming he worked for nasa and that while studying some repeating radio waves in space they had discovered they sent a radio signal of their own and got a response? Anon also said that there would be an announcement of it this week. This is spooky shit
>>
Radio waves don't travel that fast. Whatever sent us those is extremely stupid, and only existed a few billions of years ago. A creature lesser than us. And a creature that is now dead. Sorry anon, no space chicks.
>>
>>17425447
>>17425468
what if they're super advanced radio waves that can bend space? did you ever consider that? i mean it's a given that any advanced alien civilisation is going to have shit like that

Dude what if it's magic? Maybe they have a thing that blends magic and technology and they built their whole civilization about it and they have city-academy starships where recruits live 24/7 and once every three years they meet and have a tournament of magic battles.
>>
>>17425631
Humor isn't disinfo. >>>/out/
>>
>>17425666
they might have what a human would consider magic, but it's just technology that's so advanced from millions of years of civilisation that it's well beyond our realm of comprehension
>>
>>17425447
People will never understand how infinite space is or that time is relevant.
>>
>>17425066
If it's outside the Milky Way it's so fucking far that it doesn't matter. If it's ayy lmao's they'll never notice us, our radio signals would be utterly degraded by the time it reached them. Even if they didn't degrade it'd be millions of years before they'd get to where they are.

I guess the potential burst interest in space technology if it were confirmed for aliens would be nice though.

when scientists first discovered pulsars they believed it to be alien life because of the perfect time it keeps (thanks Carl sagan)
just because this hasn't happened before doesn't mean it's life, just a phenomenon we haven't observed yet
consider how long we've been searching for radio waves (at most, 150 years) and the size of the universe.

The source is repeating which means it is using the force of 10,000 suns per each repeat. Whatever is making it isn't being destoyed, so it's something either natural (somewhat like a pulsar) or it's something emitting the signal and not being destroyed.

Does it look like a legit statement given by Barry Wilmore?
>>
Cool way of looking at it is this -

Given the distance radio and other signal waves have to travel, what if aliens sent microbes out into space millions of years ago to discover potential life harnessing planets, the microbes would hit planets, evolution happens naturally and eventually millions of years later intelligent life forms create the technology to send signals into the universe (as we do now) from our perspective, its ground breaking stuff but what if, unbeknownst to us that were are sending a signal back to the fatherland that basically says "this planet can harbour life". Just being hypothetical here but a cool slant of perspective. Someone should write a creepy pasta on it
>>
>>17429856
Extraordinarily impractical unless the aliens were long lived on a scale of billions of years (which in itself defies evolutionary principles), and even then billion-year-old aliens have better things to do with four billion years.
>>
>>17429978
i dunno, toying with developing civilizations on seeded planets might be a really fun pastime by their standards
>>
>>17430014
Toying, yeah, but not seeding with life just to see if the planet would harbor life. There are much easier ways to determine that that would take much less than four billion years.

I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock n roll lotta soul, he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no DJ that was hazy cosmic jive...

I had to phone someone so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out so you heard him too!
Switch on the TV we may pick him up on channel two

Hello Commander,
Due to recent news, The UN and the local goverments of several World Powers have decided to form the Xcom project to prepare ourselves for aatacks from alien invaders.

Now go out there and get some fucking Sgts. before the Chrysallis show up or fucking India is going to leave the fucking council again.
And I hope you are a save scuming bitch and are playing on IronMan.

Remember, we will be watching.

If someones posted about gravity waves a month or two ago you would have ssid the same thing. Most of science is a theory. Try educating yourself first, especislly Teslas work on instant communication using quantum entanglement. Its easily possible using the basics we DO know.
