A debate or documentary that actually makes creationism believable.

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

It's just that I feel I've seen ONLY creationist vs. athiest debates, docs, and just in the media in general where the creationists clearly lose.

How about one that actually makes you think, "hmm? Maybe there is a God." I only ask this because I WANT to believe in an afterlife, but just have not been convinced.

Basically, if this was a courtroom and I was the judge, I would declare that creationists have not proven their point.

Anything? Thanks in advance!

Creationism really isn't a tenable position. The only viable form of it is the Last Thursday version (everything was created to simulate billions of years of time having passed, complete with fossils).

Essentially, when religion debates science, science beings mountains of facts and religion's only argument is that belief trumps facts. That doesn't mean religion isn't viable, just that it's not an alternative kind of science.

Religion can be taken as an irrational thing. That belief and objective reality can be parallels rather than needing to be synonymous. If you FEEL that there's a God, that there's a Heaven and a Hell, then as far as you're concerned they're real. The trouble comes when you try to place them in physical space. As long as you don't do that, the guy who says they're real and the guy who says they're not are both making statements of personal belief that neither can prove.

Atheists win debates because theists are dumb enough to not understand that. It's like arguing who would win in a fight between Batman and Wolverine, without acknowledging that Marvel and DC comics take place in different fictional universes.

m8 I can actually feel the fedora through my computer board.

>>17369354
The thing about "facts" is that they aren't debatable. You might chose to believe in them or not, but it won't change them or make them less real in any way.
>>
>>17370182
Obviously Batman would win.

Flight: The Genius of birds
Metamorphosis

To be fair, it's not something that can be argued easily. To argue the point rationally you must first argue in the favor of a god, but we all know how that goes.

Also creationism=\=afterlife. Just because there may have been a creative force does not automatically mean there is an afterlife or souls for that matter.

If you want to believe it, believe it. But if you can't even convince yourself in the logic of it, maybe it's not for you. It's the same reason I'm not a staunch theist or atheist - I just don't feel too strongly either way.
>>
>>17370557

A creative force does not prove or disprove evolution. Also the creation of life is called abiogesis, not evolution.
>>
>>17370575
>abiogesis
I've heard it coined involution as well.
>>
>>17370575
The docs disprove evolution. All it is is a case for intelligent DESIGN, not intelligence that 'set everything in motion and 'created' life through means of one life form slowly transforming into another'.
>>
forget christianity and other ridiculous organized religious institutions. Learn about spirituality, you will realize that everything is one and that you are god.
>>
and there is much more to life than just science

Watch trey smith's nephilim and noah videos. Then get into flat earth.

>creationist vs. athiest
You don't need to be an atheist to don't believe in creationism. Anyways since classical times this discussion exists, and the creationist "lost" always. Check out the concept of arkhe in the old Greece. Many interpretations, but te same principle.
>>
>>17370182
>The only viable form of it is the Last Thursday version (everything was created to simulate billions of years of time having passed, complete with fossils).

as opposed to the atheist form, which is is exactly the same except "by nothing" after the word "created"
>>
>>17370567
yet you call creationists too dumb to understand your euphoric ramblings
>>
>>17369354
OP I will tell you this off this world. If a man knows anything about this life of the next it is that they need to be of the flock of Jesus Christ
>>
So, my life has been partially defined by spiritual seeking..as a boy i thought that satan owned my soul, would try to pray whenever my mind said "fuck jesus" to itself..would pray to get rid of my nightmares...began to hate religion whenever my dad started forcing me to attend his southern baptist church..enamored by the french existentialists...no kidding wore a fedora in h.s. for a while, young atheists club all that junk (on a side note..is the fedora thing more than a stereotype..is it some MKUltra imprinting shit??? idk) but, started smoking pot, using hallucinogens and became enamored by the Hindus..psychically identified with Shiva...depression came around, more buddhist then...eventually i began to enjoy the Christian liturgy for myself (typically of the Eastern Orthodox variety) while at the same time I have throughout investigated and participated in the Occult practices of the West...currently reading up on TOPY and all that. I said all that to say this--my position on creation myths is that they are of use to the psyche..they provide a sort of philosophic metaphor where the individual can identify with the cosmic. More or less, it forms the basis of a spiritual life, hence why one begins at the beginning. My favorite creation myth is in the Vedas where the universe is essentially a giant, and we are his thoughts..I don't think Christians are even required to believe in the myth of the Creation...it isn't in the commandments (well i don't know about the Jewish Mitzvahs but maybe someone does) and nothing about Christian doctrine suggests a literal belief in the story (although more recent Protestant sects do advocate this position).

>>17370709
Your fault you can't understand basic science.
>>
>>17370705
This is actually a valid point
>>
>>17370567
>doesn't deny the statement

>>1737073
>has yet to show anything resembling scientific research
>thinks personal opinions and diatribe count as science because he is so superior and enlightened by his own intelligence
>>
My belief based on my experience is that everything perceived and possible to perceive is a part of god. The energy becomes waves and with waves meeting waves makes standing waves which form particles that make up the atoms of which every substance you know is made. That which is in line with the coherent harmonizing structure of the waves of energy of god is that which is holy. People who have difficulty with the notion of infinity create a start at some point. It may well be that it starts and ends in cycles but the energy just is and cannot really be destroyed. Consciousness may be something which a brain apparatus taps into or catches in some way. Consider dreams, near death experiences, astral projection and esp.
>>
>>17370676
>believing in satan's lie
It's like modern 'nazis' falling for the propaganda that rat face weaved so nicely decades ago.
>>
>>17370797
From what experience exactly?
>>
>>17370721
Look up Hermeticism, read the Kybalion. What you say about the Vedas is very similar to the hermetic conception "Everything is a mental creation of The All".
>>
>>17372840
That's where the hermetics stole it from. Kybalion is from the time of Crowley and Indology was the whitest platinum hot of hot shit.
>>
Well there are two big mysteries that science is yet to answer, because the answers provided so far have been proven wrong by science itself.

What caused the Big Bang? Because scientific evidence suggests that the Universe had an absolute beginning. Now, since the Space/Time and Matter started existing with the universe, whatever caused it is not limited by those constrains, because is existed before them. It may or may not be a "sentient being", but it's infinite, eternal, and immaterial.

What caused life? Because science is yet to go anywhere near recreating life, despite theorizing about how it started. I mean, amino acids are not life. How does molecules organize in such an extraordinary way that unicellular bacteria started existing?

Well, what we call our universe may have had a beginning but no one can say for sure what happened before the big bang. There could have been a million more big bangs in the immeasurable past.
>>
>>17369354
Why are you using creationists to represent all religion?
>>
>>17369354
>and just in the media in general where the creationists clearly lose

You know, the world is in the hands of satan, this mean most people in the world are fallen angels, it is to be expected that anything public is gona be in favour of atheism.

Do you like videogames?

Have you considered that a videogame is the perfect example of an universe that has no evidence of a creator to its inhabitants but that to an outside observer it reeks of artificial universe?
Of course videogame characters would explore that world and come to erroneous conclussions because they don't even see the true matter that constitutes that universe (ones and zeroes) they would actually see atoms, particles and nanocucumbers if such a thing were programmed.

Makes sense to you?
>>
>>17372943
Nothing here is accurate.

Here's the answer to OP's prayers.

Those of you who still parrot that tired old lie that science has all the facts and evidence and religion just has blind faith in fairy tales, PREPARE TO BE BAFFLED:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_OlX7M5MLA

When's the last time you asked a Ford salesman whether or not you should buy a Chevy? But yet you're happy to let the so-called representatives of science teach you everything about Creationism.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrkYDzILgtA

The most unscientific position one can possibly adopt is to start saying you have a monopoly on science, and what you disagree with is unscientific by definition because you disagree with it.

It's just amazing how science is supposed to be constantly changing and improving and progressing and evolving and getting ever closer to the truth . . . except for the Theory of Evolution, that's settled, debate's closed, no new evidence.

the atheist version generally says that everything was actually created in it's current form through billions of years of time and that the science we have currently supports that idea. not that the universe was created to appear as though it had aged billions of years but was in fact much younger. vastly different.
