The guy had such a shitty pension from NASA that he was broke in retirement. He was even selling off bits and pieces that he had kept from the flights as mementos.

The stuff he said interested me, but I cant help wonder if his sudden loss of reticence was motivated by him being broke. Previously he wouldn't talk about any of that stuff.

I know he was legit interested in some paranormal stuff. He was a member of that institute I can't remember the name of, so I'm not calling that into question. Just some of the stuff he said directly about aliens, what the agency knew about them etc. Made me wonder if he was selling something.
