I've heard some theories about the mothman being connected to aliens, it being an alien or something left behind intentionally or unintentionally by them, like a pet or even biological weapon.

I heard its an extra demensional being. This is another topic with interesting theorys in its self, but point is that many of these beings can predict the future or enter peoples dreams, similar things to what mothman did.
