Meh. Not really interested in the topic, but have something cute.
Is there ever any confusion or mix up between the mothman and the Ohio grassman? I feel like there might be, but the mothman has only been known for being seen in WV, right?
The Eyes of Mothman documentary on Netflix was pretty good

How are Owlman and Mothman related?
most people want to see cryptozoology as normal science, but most of those cryptids I read about are indulged in wierd paranormal shit or even occult. Yes even famous Yeti/Bigfoot or Nessie.
>>17074901
wow
>>17074871
The description of them is almost exactly the same, big ass 6-8ft humanoid with wings. The blackbird of Chernobyl that was supposedly sighted before the nuclear indecent are also similar to Mothman in description and the scenario of it being seen in a time leading up to a great disaster is also similar. The people who sited it also supposedly received strange phone calls and experienced terrifying nightmares, almost exactly like the mothman story.
>>17074311
Why would you say there is? Isn't the Ohio grassman a Bigfoot-esque cryptid where Mothman is well, a mothman with distinctive red eyes?
Not trying to be a cunt I've just never heard of any relation.
I'm with John Keel on this one, it's those damn ultraterrestrials.

Anyone curious about all the weird "whirring/buzzing" mechanical noises that mothman is known for?
Only thing that doesn't make me discount it as just a fucking owl. Trust me, owls are fucking scary as hell, but they don't make fucking gear noises.
Point Pleasant is a dump. Hasn't been any mothman sightings around here for awhile. My grandma swears she saw him looking through her window years ago though.
Someone should make the movie:
"I was a teenage mothman"
or a movie about bigfoot and mothman having a baby. It could be called:
mothsquatch
Friendly reminder that even though the movie The Mothman Prophecies is a good movie, it is not a proper retelling of the story as Keel or any other sources presented it
If you're actually interested in it, read the book, it gives a lot of stuff on mothman and manny other presumably alien reports

What if it's an Owl with a parrot's ability to mimic sounds?

I hope he's cuddly
>>17074311
Mothman-like entities have been spotted all over. Specifically in relation to your question; several of the incidents in The Mothman Prophecies took place in Ohio.
>>17077938
Yup.

Let's not forget those same noises were heard from radios and TVs that were near the sightings. The TVs also exhibited fine "herringbone" patterns as well.
>>17074311
>Ohio Grassman
Are you perhaps confusing this with another cryptid?
>>17079761
Trying too hard. Or just underage. I'll assume the former.
>>17082144
Or it's Spurdo.
Anyone know anything about this dude in PA? I live there and heard some stuff about how he's seen nearby
Is there a consensus on /x/ whether mothman is lovecraftian evil or simply misunderstood?
>>17082365
He's simply misunderstood lovecraftian evil. (He always seemed neutral to me).
>>17082444
Though he might be an eldrich abomination
>>17082452
Lovecraftian horror seems to be more up Mothmans alley given his lore
>>17082090
Nope
>>17079830
With all the absurd amount I've read on mothman, never heard this... interesting.

As others have mentioned in this thread there are other incidents of flying humanoid monsters. Here's an article referring to an incident in 2005 near Walla, Walla Washington.
http://www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2015/11/flying-bigfoot-over-walla-walla.html
>I was driving home. It was the summer of 2005, July (correction/annotation appears on screen: actually, it was the last week of June). I was driving down the highway. I was in the little Mazda car I had at the time. Out of the corner of my eye, on my right I saw what looked like a giant black bag or something flying in the sky.
...
> Anyway, the next thing I did, I got out and I was standing there watching it. It went across the highway and was going across that field and angled towards that hill back there.
...
>I feel he was about 12 feet tall. And there was a dead dog hanging on the left side. (describes dog but the audio is garbled) Anyway it was hanging on the left side and it was motionless so I felt it was dead. It's feet were all hanging straight down on both sides. It was tied and hanging about three feet below it on the left side.
...
>So when he went around and turned, he sort of looked like an owl, you know what I’m saying? It really did at that moment. I got the... it resembled an owl the way it turned its head. It went off at angle back across the field and I'm down on Smith road. I raced down Smith road a ways and it went back and it got lower as it was going. And he went over these crick trees, a line of trees in the forest.
...
>Brenton asked him if the Bigfoot looked like the Patterson/Gimlin Bigfoot.
>“It was exactly like that.”
>>17086368
>never heard this
>absurd amount I've read on mothman
Except The Mothman Prophecies, apparently.
