When I was little kid and still slept in my mom's bed, she said I would sometimes frighten her with my sleep talking and night terrors. Sometimes I would bolt upright in bed and stare, wide-eyed at the ceiling. My mom would hold me and try to talk to me but I would just stare straight ahead and not respond. She woke up to me whispering in my sleep one night and decided to try talking to me.

"Did you say something?"
"It is on the bed."
"What is on the bed?"
"It! Is on the bed."

So my mom got up, turned on all the lights, and made me drink a warm glass of milk in the kitchen before we went back to bed.

I used to have sleep paralysis too and when I told her, she would make me pray before sleeping. Once, I woke up frozen in bed to hear someone idly plucking a little guitar outside the window. The problem was that I lived in a second floor apartment. It doesn't seem that frightening to me now but I did wonder if it was connected to a strange little audio recording of a supposed exorcism my family kept. But that's another story.

Tell me your creepy sleepy habits, /x/.

Several times at night i have to wake up of the bed to close the doors of my closet, when there's no wind on my room, in fact it happened since i made a suicide rope, that i saved in my closet

I have legitimate night terrors. Powerful, primal nightmares that persist \well into regaining consciousness and I've had them my entire life

>Be a little kid
>Believe monsters are coming into my room at night
>Mom regularly must comfort me screaming
>ave unhealthy need to sleep with parents all the way til adolescence
>Be adolescent
>Be convinced that I'm being stalked by other kids from school who hate me and are fucking with me
>Manage to overcome paralysis aspect by channeling fear into teen rage
>Regularly leap out of my bed onto things that turn out to not be there
>Be young adult
>Start sleeping with girls
>Have problems with punching them in my sleep because I think they're attackers
>Or alternately push them out of the bed onto the floor to protect them
>Be fully mature adult with family
>Wake up thinking girlfriend/wife is dead in the bed with me
>"Whatever - she'll probably start moving in a minute"
>Son comes and gets me because HE'S having a night terror
>"It's okay, Boy. Just let Daddy lay here for twenty seconds or so until the huge fanged bugs stop crawling around on your face"

My brain. It's interesting.

I think a lot of sleep disorders might be hereditary? My mom and I both have sleep terrors. Might want to check with a sleep specialist man I read that sleep disorders that manifest in adulthood might be precursors for things like schizophrenia.

I score pretty high on the old PCL. I may have done something terrible and/or incredible by now if I hadn't discovered in high school how marijuana could make me much much more normal and came with a built in social group.

Unless post ipso facto in my defense though I would never tell any kind of medical professional about my mental processes. People like me have a strong aversion to be putting on lists or generally arousing needless suspicion

My siblings all used to talk in their sleep a lot when they were younger, it was actually kind of funny. I only did it on a couple of occasions. One of my brothers also used to sleep with his eyes open sometimes, which I imagine most people here would find freaky, but we thought it was just weird/funny at the time.

So I have a thing about closets and the ET from the move "ET"...
I always shut my closet doors before I go to sleep, it's a must. Otherwise I am not able to sleep. This all started when I was about 9 or 8. I had a nightmare about ET, he was eating my parents and sisters and I was watching him do it from a closet through a little slit. I woke up sweaty and scared as fuck and I couldn't sleep the rest of that night. After that I had a nightmare about ET once again, this time I was 10. I was in bed staring at my closet door which was partially shut, only a small crack left open. (It's a sliding one so it slides and connects with the walls) I started seeing it open slowly, and I saw two fingers coming from the inside pulling it open. It was ET's fingers. Then I see his fucking face eventually and his neck elongated as fuck and he's mumbling and making weird noises at me.

Since then I must have the closet doors closed otherwise I either can't sleep or I have a nightmare involving the closet and or ET.

Once my sister came in my room to get something and she opened the closet for whatever reason. I had a fucking nightmare that night about ET staring at me from the darkness in my closet. When I awoke from my nightmare I looked to my left and wouldn't you know it the closet was opened. I fucking hate opened closets....

this picture scares me shitless, imagine seeing this bitch fucking down the street on a cold winter night, street lights on, few porch lights on, but not a soul in sight other than this fucking ET down the street staring at you...that's true horror you don't get to see or experience in "horror" movies these days

I loved the movie when I was younger, but looking back on it, I can see how he would have creeped out other kids.
