The most that could happen would probably be akin to how Newton's theory of gravity is treated since Einstein's theory of relativity was published.

There is a lot of footage that shows that you can still see whole objects from far, far away even though they shouldn't be entirely visible with the formula's of earth's curvature. The proof is somewhat scarce desu

correct, but I saw a discussion about this between a few scientists when one of them came up with a explanation for reaching the same point when moving in a straight line and it couldn't be disproven by the others. I can't find it anymore unfortunately.
