I propose that instead of a human, the main character is an alium that posts on /x/. He tries making a "I'm an alien, ask me anything" thread, but the replies are basically "Fuck off, RP-fag" etc. He tries to learn about human society from /x/ and comes to the conclusion that humans are delusional paranoid schizophrenics who believe in magicks, demons, ghosties, pretty much anything. Or even better, he believes everything on /x/ is real and starts becoming paranoid himself.

I can imagine that same alien always going out without trying to hide, but no matter how obvious he is about the fact, everyone assumes it's a costume or something. It becomes a point of annoyance that absolutely no one seems to take his appearance seriously. His least favorite people are the ones who assume he's a furry and bully him as such.

General update: have most of the details of the reptilian character done. He looks quite a bit different (longer nose/mouth area, looks more dragon or serpent-like) than the typical reptilian but I developed a reason for it that hopefully fits. I'll post more about that when I've drawn a better bust or full body of him.

I don't have a working scanner or anything at the moment and I have to fix my tablet, so these are just pictures of doodles arranged in a vaguely comic way, that's all. Okay. A sort of summary, without giving too much (?) away:

Somewhere in northern California, an aircraft crashes into a forest, catching an entire pot field on fire. All of the aircraft's alien inhabitants appear to be dead, but the mysterious authorities investigating have no way of knowing that a single occupant managed to escape... after inhaling quite a bit of the burning crop. Further south, a reptilian diplomat has mostly given up on trying to convince humans that he is, in fact, an actual alien and not a guy in an unusual and convincing fursuit. Insert other characters including /x/tan, a growing mass of shadow people, an out of control tulpa, and some extra special and terrifying creatures preying upon the gentle bigfoot population.

Meanwhile, an agoraphobic /x/phile has finally decided to rejoin the rest of society. Maybe get a job, save up to go back to school. Sounds easy enough. They've spent enough time in his/her dark room, staying up all night and indulging in stories of the monstrous and terrifying.

Except the /x/phile didn't plan on finding out that many of those monstrous and terrifying things happened to be all around them the entire time. And they didn't expect a shadow person to attach itself to them, either. Great. Now they have this strange, triangle-shaped rash breaking out smack dab in the middle of their forehead. Maybe they should have just stayed hidden in their room after all.

It'll start out kind of episodic as all the characters and their situations are introduced, but as the comic goes on it'll all thread together into a single cohesive plot.

Perhaps you could try to make it a GoT-ish kind of story where all of these creatures and conspiracies and factions and things are all competing for power, and over time the story lines all begin to connect. Like the there's /x/ guy, bro alien, /x/tan, and the one lizard man who isn't evil, versus the shadow people, versus the lizards who lizard politician used to work with, versus some other conspiracy or group, with the out-of-control tulpa and cryptids playing parts in the story

Heh, no, the idea I have is... I don't know how to describe it without giving everything away.

It starts out in the day to day encounters, but as time goes on it's revealed that a lot of the things are interconnected. In the end it's not the big-battle-of-good-and-evil but more like... Have you seen Cabin in the Woods? Similar to the attitude of the two characters remaining at the end. Something like that mixed with a casual, "Oh, you saved humanity? Well, aren't you special. Look, it's not really a big deal or anything momentous. We're under some sort of apocalyptic threat every other week. The only difference is you're actually aware of it now. Welcome to Earth." So while following the story, you might get the impression that the conflict is some Big Bad Thing to end all Big Bad Things, but then you find out it's just a drop in the bucket. That the characters' struggles and all the conflict the comic follows just seems small and quaint to people more in-the-know.

If you've read John Dies at the End, there's a scene at the end when they're playing basketball and these kids go through a portal, have some huge universe-saving adventure, and come back with their outlook on the universe different and thinking everything ever has changed. But John and Dave are just like, "Yeah, who cares. Same old shit."

That was possibly the most rambling and inarticulate explanation ever.

On the Aaaayyyy, alien iconography can open some pathways, but I believe humorous and caricature depictions are safer depictions. Humor is a great 'weapon' against negative beings. If you're ever being stalked by something dumb enough to show it's face, draw a happy picture of it surrounded by rainbows and loving auras, and then use that picture to give it the ol' Love Energy treatment.

Corporeal Greys are pretty robotic and all about breeding and (frankly boring) superior intellect. The spiritual ones (castes? Whatever?) are much more dialed into things. Yes, there are good Greys that don't countenance with abduction, genetic experimentation, dumb shit. I imagine Aaaayyyyy is like that. He looks like the kind of guy I'd drink with. And have a good time.
