That's totally fucked up. What grade are you in? Age? Depending on it there are different methods for this.

x1=-3
x2=6/7

We've been doing quadratics and the whole HW on them.

wont get the marks need every step,thanks anyway

Here's a hint: subtract 9/x from both sides and find the common denominator of all the terms.
>>94332
But that doesn't leave me with any x variables to show that it simplifies to the equation in the image
>>94306
First you subtract from each side of the equation 9/x to obtain 0 on the right side.
Then you put () around the left side.
Now look at the terms with x. You cannot divide by 0, so let x be different from 0 and from -2.
Multiply both sides with x (not equal to 0) to get rid of the x in the denominator and again with (x+2) (again not equal to 0) to get rid of the x+2 in the denominator.
So you have at first x(x+2)(....) = x(x+2)0 = 0
Now multiply distributively the parentheses and simplify by collecting the same powers of x.

wrong-o
>>94306
get common denominators.
>multiply both sides by (x+2)
7 + (10 / (x+2)) = (9/x)
7(x+2) +10 = (9/x)(x+2)
7x+24=9+(18/x)
7x+15=(18/x)
>multiply both sides by (x)
x(7x+15)=x(18/x)
7x^2 +15x = 18
7x^2 +15x -18 = 0
