If your first language is English look first for their releases, they have a website were they post direct download links, useful if for some reason you can't torrent files, for example University networks.

Anyway all the information you need is on the /a/'s wiki, search for it in your preferred search engine

Bakabt is private, but you can actually download the torrents there without an account. Just Google anime_name Bakabt.

There's also this private tracker called Animebytes that requires you to take an easy interview in order to join, but it probably is the most complete site of the three.

I've never downloaded anything from IRC channels before, I always download everything from public trackers since I live in a country where copyright laws are not enforced.

But I'm mostly curious if you can't find non-anime content that way, mainly movies since some public torrents, specially huge +8 to 12GB files, always has few seeders or are dead within days.
