I've always used WiFi dongles since I got my computer tower and I've always had problems and today it's finally got the better of me as I've searched for solutions for years but I just can't get it fixed.

So whenever I'm browsing the web it's fine however whenever I show my WiFi dongle some actual strain it crashes, in a sense. For example if I download/stream anything or play games online for an extended period of time the connection becomes "Limited" with the little yellow warning sign next to the signal strength.

I've bought new dongles, tried all the usb slots and used USB adapters to be even safer, I've changed my internet settings and updated my drivers, I've made sure it's not getting altered by windows and that it's working the way it should but it's still crashing!?

Has anyone else actually had this problem because it's been going on for the past 4 years between dongles and internet providers and it really needs fixing?

In fairness my most recent purchase came with a small wired dock so I can sit it on my desk and Plug it in and out whenever it crashes to fix it but doing this up to 30 times a day is just such an inconvenience

I am bit surprised about the USB 3.0 interface - supposedly USB 3.0 and wifi interfere with each other.

Have you considered moving up to a Wifi PC card? You know that you install inside your computer?

I'd have to upgrade my motherboard due to a rather large GPU and it's not really worth it for a slight irritant

For what its worth I have used about 4 usb wifi dongles myself over the years and have never had one that wasn't shitty in the exact way you describe
