I've got a Hypothetical question for people who are good computers and operating systems. Say a friend acquired a gaming PC but it doesn't have an OS on it. I still have my windows 7 disk but upgraded to windows 10. Can I let him use my windows 7 disk and key for his PC since I have windows 10?
I've done that and it worked but I doubt it'd work if it's an OEM key
I'd guess no, because the key you've got is still in use, you're just using it for a different OS
here's a solution
>study/have a friend study anything computer-related in an university
>school most likely uses some version of microsoft dreamspark
>register into dreamspark and verify student status
>obtain unlimited supply of keys for microsoft products (office, windows, windows server, etc)

>unlimited supply of keys
Dreamspark usually gives you access to 1 key per product though, so you could only give one windows 7, one windows 8, one windows 8.1 etc.

Theorically, you can. When upgrading to windows 10, you get a windows 10 license, so your windows 7 license is probably unused right now. Practically, I don't know, I never tried it.

>one windows 7, one windows 8, one windows 8.1
yup, and all of those can be upgraded to 10 if so desired
make friends, talk with people and get their keys too - I guarantee you most people don't ever use theirs and don't really even care

No. I even got some friends who download every dreamspark stuff before they finish their studies so they can sell it to other people lol.

that's actually a good ideea I should do it before i finish my studies

No, because your Windows 7 that you upgraded to Windows 10 is now your Windows 10.
Upgrade pricing has always worked like this.

DreamSpark Windows keys can only legally be used on PCs that already have an OEM Windows license of some kind.
So you can install them on a Dell XP machine, but not on a motherboard you bought yourself.
You can probably install them over XP Retail, but the license agreement says you need a Windows sticker on the side that has a legal right to be there.
