Your first attempt will probably be a 6/10 at best. Whichever recipe you chose, prepare to make it a few times.
My favorite cake is Frankfurter Kranz btw. Hard to get right though because you can easily make it too soaked or too dry.

I suppose so, I take pleasure in cooking the occasional complicated meal but baking is so different I wouldn't be able to judge how long to leave it baking for, if it needs more of a certain ingredient etc.

A cheesecake, I did this, the Monterosa cheesecake one time I had to go to a place with lots of people and they all enjoyed, it was eaten quite quickly.

Cheesecake has to be armed with fruit, berries or marmalade, inside or outside. And both of those conditions need more preparing.

Great choice (really) but a real Cheesecake is stage two cut in performance, up there with a real Apple Pie.

Update for anyone that cares: I made a chocolate cake and it ended up rising too high as well as it was a little crumbly however bombshells nice and presumably will taste so as well. I feel bad for presenting this mess at my friends engagement party but it's what I got.

Actually never mind, For some reason they all absolutely loved it and asked me how I did it. You couldn't see it crumbling under the icing and I slapped some strawberries and icing sugar over it to make it look nice.
