premiere is used mostly for full featured films, if you want to really learn to edit video try the free After Effects course on videocopilot.net

and here's a good channel on youtube where they upload photoshop seminars by famous photographers or people who can really teach Ps

after learning the basics just practice on things you enjoy doing, and look up quick tutorials for things you don't know.
