Okay so yesterday night my internet shat the bed and I could barely connect to anything. Unplugged my router and modem and nothing helped. Next day things seemed back to normal. Tonight around 8 the same thing happened. Called xfinity help and the lady said my modem is out of date. Why would it just now start fucking up? Is Comcast fucking up for other people and they just won't say?

do you not know what "out of date" means? they recently upgraded something on their end and now your modem does not work as well as it used to.
since it happens at the same time every night, i'd bet that's comcast's peak usage time. with your shitty old modem, you're getting the short end of the stick.
comcast is notorious for their shitty service.
