I have a laptop with a 500gb WD HDD (5400 rpm), not a lot of money, and I would like to upgrade it to at least 1 tb. What would be the best choice for me? An SSHD with 5400 rpm for the HDD part or a simple 7200 rpm HHD? Apparently a 7200 rpm SSHD do not exist for laptops (2.5", I didn't manage to find one). I have a double booting machine (Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 16.04) and I use it mainly for gayming and programs like ArchiCad, Cinema 4D and Artlantis (and internet and shit, of course).

You don't get 7200RPM SSHDs because:
- it doesn't need it when there's an SSD serving >90% of the requests
- it doesn't make that much of a difference anyway. Who the fuck cares whether seeks take 5 milliseconds or 4 milliseconds?
Get the SSHD, it makes a massively bigger difference than the platter spinning 33% faster.

Ok, thank you m8. So 7200rmp discs are not that different if compared to 5400rpm ones?
