How do you choose/what do you listen to when reading manga?

maybe think of it like a soundtrack for a movie it depends of the genre/mood,
if the manga isn't heavy on action/shonen I usually pick post-rock songs like these ones

i choose a podcast of someone reading out the text from the manga. i give a high pitched screech whenever they deviate from the text.

You don't. You make up the music as you go along unless the manga already has an anime adaptation then you use that ost instead.
I am mentally impaired and can't listen to things while reading

I can listen to things while reading but only if they don't have lyrics, or if the lyrics are in a non-english language so I can't understand them.

I go with whatever classical I'm in the mood for, though I sometimes try to match the mood of the series. Beethoven more than anything else.

I used to listen to instrumental music but then I moved on to ambient noise. Robert Rich in particular has some really nice albums.
Here's a nice 7-hour video of one of his albums: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ld5uEuA0Fg

I'm the exact opposite to the point where I get too distracted without a constant source of noise while reading something to cancel out all the little noises everywhere else. And it has to be ambient noise, since lyrics mess with my reading, too. It's the worst.

That's not a mental impairment, I am the same.

Usually nothing. But I still like to have headphones even when just reading stuff. They are like comfy earmuffs.
Some anon here some time ago suggested rain and I have returned to it everytime I remember it. It sometimes really gives an added effect to the experience.
