Anyone read this? I could use some help on some questions.
Here's the Questions:
• Choose 5 states (countries) as mentioned in the text by the author, Last, and fully describe their current population situation and any population policies associated with those states (countries).
• Create your own Total Fertility Rate map using data provided by the Population Reference Bureau. (www.prb.org). Students may use any map-making program (GIS, National Atlas or Google Earth) to create your map. All student-created maps must include: title and key. See blog for further details. You may also create your map by hand. I must receive a hard copy of your created map within your packet.
• Answer: What effect has the Roe v Wade decision had on fertility rates in the United States (according to Last)? Support or refute his position by addressing your own feelings toward abortion. Compare U.S. abortion rates to those of other states mentioned by the author by creating a chart or spreadsheet.
• What effects have Baby Boomers had on the U.S. population? Address social security in your response.
• After reading the text, how do you feel about America’s fertility future? Is Last’s predictions and analysis overblown? Or, do you feel that there is a looming fertility crisis in America?
• Address the illegal Hispanic immigration issue as presented by the author. What are immigrants doing to assist the American population and fertility? Is this a positive impact according to the author? Address how you feel about the demographic and economic impacts of illegal immigrants.
