connecting to an adequate monitor, can i go from USB A to USB C to DirectPort and achieve higher than 60hz ? i only have a laptop with an HDMI port (hdmi might work to like 120 but im iffy and this way interests me more)

honestly i jsut learned what usb c is like 15 min ago and i still dont really get it. seemed silly to output to monitor from a usb slot. every forum i have checked is garbage do you know if hdmi do either duallink dvi, or DirectPort would achieve a higher refresh rate?

USB C can actually run Thunderbolt, which means running a PCIe x4 slot down a USB cable.
