Idiot tech support request here.
I'm trying to run a server at home to do various services (personal site, sftp, all that jazz). I own a domain and would like to have subdomains direct to different ports, In that I'd like to have
>subdomain1.site.com sends to sftp on 22
>subdomain2.site.com sends to the idrac
>subdomain3.site.com sends to vnc on 5900
>site.com defaults to 80 and serves the site
and so on as I keep working on this thing. Problem is I'm hung up on how to get this to work on my DNS's end. Ports are fowarded fine and I've confirmed that the network will let stuff pass through, but I can't separate subdomain1.site.com from site.com. From what I can tell I need to use SRV instead of A, but I can't get that to actually push to the nameserver. All the documentation I've been able to actually find on SRV is either about Minecraft or way above my pay grade of Doing This In My Free Time For Giggles.
Any help at all about what dumb mistake I'm making would be lovely. Pic mostly unrelated.
Morning-after bump.
