Help I have Ubuntu Gnome and I can't hear from my headphones

Help
I have Ubuntu Gnome and I can't hear from my headphones
Every time I restart my computer I need to go to alsamixer and turn up the "headphones" volume bar
But I don't want to do this everytime I start my computer up
PS: I use wubi to dual boot

How old is your ubuntu?

You should be able to set the volume from the command line with
>amixer set headphones 100 unmute

Test it and if it works, put it in your rc.local so it will run at every boot
