I tried today to improve my pc's RAM because i had instsalled two RAM sticks of 4gb each but my pc was only using 4gb of ram, i watched a tutorial on youtube and used msconfig to change the number of drives from 1 to 4 and i changed the memory use o from 4000 to 8000, then i rebooted, but now it takes an eternity to boot and it gives me an error, i tried changing to a previous state like the pc suggested and i tried ignoring it, but both times the pc runs suuuuper slow and i get to the desktop but since its so slow i cant use msconfig to change it back, what can i do?

What operating system are you using?
32-bit Windows can only recognize 3GB of RAM.
Besides which, you don't have to use msconfig, it should automatically detect more memory.
Are the sticks identical? DDR-XXXX, EC whatever? If they aren't, they won't play nice. In some cases if one is slower they'll both go to the lower speed.
Also: dust that shit.

i have windows 10 64-bit, and both sticks are the same model, in the windows properties tab it said that there are 8gb detected and only 3,95 were being used

>3,95 were being used
I've only ever seen this happen with 32-bit windows. Go check.

i need to get access to my pc first
If it is 64-bit, run memtest86. That other stick may be bad.

Also make sure that you are sticking them in the right slots if you only have 2 sticks. Some motherboards are dual channel and you loose performance or stability when they're in the wrong slots.

swap 'em around. also check your motherboard specs to see if it can deal with 8GB.
