A quick question for you guys. My internet suddenly started taking a shit and I highly suspect my isp is throttling me, probably because I was pirating stuff. Will they stop? It's been about a week now and they haven't stopped. Thanks for any help.

which country?
I highly doubt they would do some stupid shit like that, if you're in a 3rd world shithole like me they could be illegaly fucking up your internet for different reasons.
Maybe you hit your data limit?

I'm in the us and the day I decided to pirate something, I noticed a drop in performance around the next day.

I'm not limited in my plan.

how illegal is to pirate stuff in your state?
you could complain about it so they fix your problem but i don't know if you could get in trouble for pirating shit, someone from U.S. should know more about this kinda shit.

The laws are quite strict, and I suspect it because I've been warned for it before.

In California btw

dont be an antisocial basement-dweller, actually contact your ISP about this shit over the phone or something
some ISPs do have systems like that but it's usually a 3-strike system and they'd be sending you love letters the whole time
after the first or second strike you should be smart enough to just get a vpn

note that US courts have ruled that an IP address isn't enough to identify a specific person for piracy and shit, so you can't get in LEGAL trouble just for torrenting something
but the ISPs are buddy-buddy with the media companies who own the copyrights, and just because you won't be arrested for something doesn't mean they can't deny you service over it

It's certainly enough to identify an individual subscription, which is all the DMCA requires.

But any of the subscribers could have had that IP at that time.

By definition there's only one subscriber.

methinks the program you used to pirate is hogging bandwidth sending all of your information to china
