it wont go open source, there is no way in hell adobe would ever open source anything that was once one of its leading products
you can have millions of signatures and a bazillion petitions for it but, mark my words, they will just give some lame excuse (flash has been in what is essentially maintenance mode for quite some time, and when there is a patch its either to fix security vulnerabilities or buggy behavior)
