As someone who has never read a comic book in their life, but recently began watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, what Marvel comics/story arcs are recommended for newcomers? I was genuinely surprised with how much I enjoyed some of the films, and want to get into the source material a bit.
you don't mind personal recs or you want something more of your taste based on your favourite movie?

Not sure, honestly. The only thing I really know about comic books is that some have been going on since the 40s, and over time there have been loads of different stories, arcs, reboots, artists, etc.
My favorite of the MCU films have been Iron Man 1, Captain America Winter Solider/Civil War, the first Avengers, and Doctor Strange. I absolutely love Iron Man and Captian America, they'd have to be my favorites, although Dr. Strange is really intriguing too.
