Hey, I need a bit of help with my new build.

I bought a G4560 because my older motherboard that I used with a FX-6300 broke, so I decided to switch to intel, the problem is that I don't have any way of accessing ther archives on my HDDs.

Basically I need some ideas of how to get to them, I'm thinking on making a partition on one and installing windows there, then sending everything to the other HDD, that's a bit convoluted of coure so if there are any easier options I'd like to hear them.

I have Windows 7 installed on one of the HDDs, if that makes any difference. Also, I only have a windows 7 DVD with me, so can I use that as a placeholder to get everything on a single drive so I can format the other for a clean installation? Or should I finish downloading this Windows 10 ISO and use it instead? The BIOS is already updated btw.

- boot any Windows DVD
- press shift-f10
- Voila, command prompt that can access all drives.

You don't need to format for a clean install. Just install, and it will move your old Windows to \windows.old\, and preserve all the rest of your data.

Where did you hear that you had to format?

You don't even need to reinstall. Just follow scenario 2 of the guide at https://www.wintips.org/how-to-replace-motherboard-without-re-installing-windows/

I'm not good with command prompt, all I know how to do is navigate around, what commands will I need to use?

>>352337
I know you don't, that's why I said I wanted to install windows on a partition, I just like to format after I get an ugrade.

I'll try doing that, will it work even if I'm changing from AMD to Intel?

You are officially an idiot.

Of course it will. If AMD and Intel weren't compatible, you'd have to download special AMD versions of everything like you have to with 32-bit and 64-bit.

Why don't you have access to the disks?
