Two things:
1. Assuming that by 1080p you mean 1920x1080, how exactly do you want the fact that it's a different aspect ratio to be dealt with (bars on the sides, zoomed in, stretched, etc.)
2. The "p" in 1080p is only relevant to video, meaning progressive scan (every line drawn in order per frame), as opposed to "i" meaning interlaced (every other line drawn per frame, or field to the pedantic). It does not imply aspect ratio.
