3 likely possibilities:
The screen control board is failing
The internal video cable is loose
The GPU/iGPU/Motherboard is dying

Even if the displayed image is proper on an external monitor, it could still be a GPU/Mobo problem.

This issue likely cannot be fixed without buying replacement parts.
